Slow and Steady...

Monday, January 21, 2013

Today I met my first goal...under 220 by the end of January, 2013. I met this goal a bit early and I was so excited. That excitement was short-lived as I realize I have yet another goal ahead. I know that slow and steady works. It has been for me so far, but there are times I just wish it will just fall off! lol Yes, I know realistically this won't happen so I carry on.

I guess that's what I am trying to convince myself of...that slow and steady WILL pay off. This is just my reminder to myself that when I feel that this isn't working, I must remember that it is!

I SOOO want a magic pill to make the weight just fall off!! In fact, I have tried a few and ended up with much regret as the weight usually came back on, plus a few pounds -- not to mention to jitteriness (is that a word?) and headaches!

It WILL pay off! We just have to be ready to commit to that theory once and for all! Great job meeting your first goal!! Good Luck!

To try to keep myself on track, I decided to write down my daily thoughts. As I was contemplating on what to write for my first blog, I thought how much changing our bad eating habits is sort of like tripping up the stairs. We all do it and what do we do after we trip and maybe even fall? We hop up, brush ourselves off, look around to be sure no one saw the fall and then walk on. Rarely, when we walk on do we trip again. Changing our lives can be seen the same way. We will slip and fall, but if we hurry up and get up before anyone sees (pretend no one saw it regardless, lol) we can walk on as if the slip never happened.

So I embracing that this weight loss journey is hard and it sucks sometimes, if I just get up and walk on, I will always be moving forward. I hope everyone (or anyone) that reads this will walk on with me.

Happy Losing!
