Sad news today

Thursday, May 20, 2010

We got word today that our elderly neighbor passed away on Tuesday. She has been dealing with MS for years and had recently had surgery on her spine to fuse some vertebrae. When she went in for a follow-up surgery last week, her lung collapsed and she had been in hospice for a few days. We'll be attending her calling hours in the morning while Alexis is at school.

Other than that, today as a decent day. I ate really well, got in a good 30 minute workout this morning and I'll get my stretching in shortly.

Schedule/Goals for tomorrow:
6am-3 mile run
9am-4 year well-baby
9:30 (or after doc)-take A. to pre-school
10:30-calling hours
11:30-pick-up A.
Lunch/Pick-up living room
1:00-Vet for cat check-up
Clean GP cage
Pack A. for overnight to my sister's
Send important e-mails (and other to-do's)
Make dinner reservations
Stretch
8:00-Date night with hubby

Found: A new goal to achieve

THIS: www.warriordash.com/register2010_nor
theast.php

I think this looks so cool!! For a moment, I was tempted to register for it this year. I know I can run the distance, but a couple of the obstacles would prove unbeatable still at this point (I think). So, I'll take a year, work on my running and endurance and train the heck out of my upper body. I've already started talking to people about doing it with me. Now, I just need to keep my motivation for a whole year! Maybe I can find one in the spring to try.

Today was a pretty decent day. I've still been eating at the mid-high point of my range and I need to get that under control, but it's getting there. I can feel the water weight going away and that's good. Today I did almost all of BFBM-I cut out 1.5 circuits due to time constraints, but I walked 2 miles tonight to make up for it.

I'm feeling pretty good and looking forward to a restful weekend.

Goals for tomorrow:
80+ oz water
AM Cardio
Work on to-do list
PM stretch
In bed by 10

ok i finally have been able to look at this today.. AND IT LOOKS SO STINKING COOL! I wanna do it! can't run a 5k yet.. My goal is to start C25K this fall but that would be so awesome to train for!!! Not sure i could do it this august...the upper body would need tons of work and could that really be done in 2.3 months??? But next year.. I'd be willing to do it with you! emoticon

A friend of mine showed me something similar that takes place in England every year. I think that looks like a LOAD of fun! You might just inspire me to sign up for something like that, but I'll work on the 5K first. emoticon BTW, got your message on my page. We should totally get together for a run/walk. Maybe the rail trail or a park?

Ugh, still feeling blech.

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

Even with a fairly good food day, I'm still feeling yucky from the weekend. I checked my weight today and I was up a total of about 4 pounds from last week. I know it's a lot of water weight, but it just compounds the blah feeling (along with the weather!) I did get up and do 30DS today. I did all of level one and the first 2 circuits of L2 (ran out of time). Tomorrow will be straight cardio-probably BFBM (45 min if I get up on time). I'm working on finishing my water and I'll stretch after Glee and then head straight to bed.

In other news, I've decided that I love running. Now tat I know I can run a 5K in under 30 min, I'll keep training for that, but I'll likely try to add to my time/distance on a weekly basis. I'm also looking at doing the Spark your way to a 10K-might start it in June/July when I don't have to worry about being up for work and will have time to run an hour.

Goals for tomorrow:
80+ oz water
AM Cardio
PM stretch
In bed by 10

i agree with your mom..It's probably bloat from chinese food.. that stuff has a ton of salt...even when using low sodium versions... Youll be back into the swing of it all in no time.. Glad to hear you're training for a 10K...Does spark people have a program for that???

That's great that you want to try the 10K running program. I'm sure the weight gain will be gone at your next weigh in, I doubt you ate 4 lbs worth of calories this weekend ;)

That weight will be gone in no time. However, I thoroughly understand the blahs thing. I'm with you. You go with the running. I hope to get there one day. Perhaps I'll try the C25K once summer hits and I actually have time without getting up super early. emoticon

i love running, too! I'm horrible at it right now (a 5k in under 30? I'm so jealous!) But the best thing about it is that it just gets easier.

Boo on your 4lb gain, i'm sure it'll go away quickly! don't be discouraged!

Happy to be back to (almost) normal.

Monday, May 17, 2010

Finally, our 4 days of partying is over. I'll be so happy to be back into a routine tomorrow. I had my weigh in today, I was up somewhere between 1-2 pounds, but I'm really ok with it. I got up at 6 and ran for 3 miles, plus another 10 minutes walking, I got some picking up from the weekend done, I did ok at dinner and I'll get my stretching in soon. I'm still working on my water and I napped instead of catching up on the DVR. All in all, today was a good day. Alexis had a wonderful birthday and is now sleeping soundly.

I'm working the next 3 days, which will go a long way toward helping me get back into my normal routine. My biggest issue will be dinner, I hate taking time out to cook when I have so much other stuff to do, but it will all work out.

Goals for tomorrow:
AM cardio workout (I'm thinking L1+2 of 30 day shred=40 min)
80+ oz water
PM stretch
Work on to-do list (there are things that HAVE to get done tomorrow)
In bed by 10

I so know what you mean about bday. I just got done with my dd1 7th bday and I am up 1.8lbs after pizza, ice cream out my nose...LOL, and other junk.

I feel like myself today after eating well.

Good for you getting back into the swing of things. I have learned this is life and we can survive.

Not looking forward to tomorrow...

Sunday, May 16, 2010

Today was wonderful! It was a lot of work and I am exhausted, but everyone had a blast and I got to spend time with some amazing people and dear friends. I am NOT looking forward to my weigh in tomorrow, but I will do it to hold myself accountable. The most frustrating thing is that I will (technically) overweight again...I was riding right on the line and this was a VERY high calorie weekend. I have one more dinner to get through and then Tuesday will be better. The way I figure it, a lot of this will be water weight...so next week I'll have a big loss to make up for it (I hope)!

I just feel so junky right now, bloated and I can't drink enough water to get everything flushed out. I plan on getting up tomorrow and going for a run and then getting in some abs at some point. I have lots of work to do to make up for this binge this week, but it will happen.

Goals for tomorrow:
Weigh in and post, regardless of results
80+ oz water
AM run-3 miles
Finish cleaning up from the weekend
Watch the last 2 episodes of Survivor-No spoilers please!!
Eat as healthy as I can at dinner-I'm hoping for sushi
PM stretch
In bed by 10

**BTW-I do plan on replying to everyone that commented on last night's blog. I will get to you, I promise! In the meantime, thank you and know that I truly appreciate all the love!**
