It's Official

I am so blessed by all of my Spark Friends. So many people have stopped by to congratulate me this weekend and I feel so blessed!

With my weigh-in today, I am down to 139.2. That puts me down 50 pounds and only 14 from my initial goal of 125. I plan on wearing my new outfit to work tomorrow in a building I haven't been in since I started with SP.

I also started week 3 of the C25K today. I was a bit worried about running for 3 minutes straight, but I did it! I'll be 1/3 of the way to being able to run a 5K at the end of this week. My wonderful hubby offered to take our daughter to work today so I was able to run without the stroller, which I think really helped. I was able to take 2 minutes off my time from last week for the same route.

It was not such a great food day for me today. I stayed within my target range, but I was high for me and it was kinda junky food. Not nearly enough freggies or fiber. Will need to make up for it tomorrow with a good workout and better eating. I will meet all of my goals for today though, so it's definitely more positive than negative.

On a completely unrelated note, my hubby and I decided to let our daughter get a guinea pig (2 actually) as a pet. So today, I went and bought the cage and basic supplies. We're going to set everything up for Easter Sunday and then take her Monday morning to pick her piggies. I can't wait!

45 min+ work out

    Oh my gosh! Why did I miss this post? YOU ARE ROCKING!!!!!!!! So, we need to start planning that shopping trip huh? I'm so ready for us both to be at our goal weight and get some NEW pretty clothes to show ourselves off and enjoy how we feel! You may have to wait alittle bit for me though! You only have 14 pounds to go. I on the otherhand, have about 23! URGH

BUT I know we can do this and do it together! I'M SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED ABOUT OUR TRIP!

I wore my new outfit today. I was trying to get dressed for church and couldn't find anything I was happy with. So, I decided that since I had weighed in at 139 again, I would wear my new outfit today instead of Monday. I loved it! I felt so good in it. Pic is on my page.

Today was a good day. I took the day off from exercise, but Alexis and I had some fun, picked up a lot and danced. I'm planning my C25K runs this week for MWF. The weather won't be great tomorrow, but better than Tuesday. I'm hoping the rain ends by 3. I'm excited to try this weeks schedule, but a little worried about running 3 minutes at a time.

Weigh in day tomorrow. Looking forward to having an "official" number. Also thinking this is going to be a great week! It's up to me t make it one!

Goals for tomorrow:
72+ oz water
AM work out (20 minutes abs)
C25K, W3D1 after work
PM Yoga

C25K Week 2-Done!

I'm feeling really good today. I got up and taught gymnastics for an hour and then Alexis and I went for a run. She really is great! I have a new-to-me jogging stroller that I bought from a friend for $20 and this was it's first real workout. After my first jogging interval, my 3 year old cheerleader said "can we go fast again?" I was happy to oblige...2 minutes later! She really seemed to enjoy it, even if it was a bit chilly. The sun was out and we got to see some geese, so all was not lost.

I had a pretty good day food wise but I haven't cooked anything since Thursday night! I'm really looking forward to making dinner from scratch tomorrow night. I now also have lots of fruit to eat tomorrow since I was pressured into going to Wegman's tonight for: mango, raspberries, "orange melon" and tomatoes.

As an aside to yesterday's blog...I had this conversation at the clothing store where I bought my new pants...
Me: Honestly,please, are these pants too small on me?? (I had no one with me to give me an honest opinion)
Salesgirl 1: Well, maybe a little, but they don't look bad and the other pair was too big.
Salesgirl 2: Are you buying them for something special?
Me: Well, I have lost about 50 pounds and none of my other black slacks fit...
Salesgirl 1: Wow! That's great, you should definitely get the pants.

We then had a conversation about SP and I still had a little to go etc. It was pretty cool!

Goals for tomorrow:

PM yoga
Pick up the house

    Yeah, sharing the Spark with someone! That is always an awesome thing!

I SO agree with the stroller! We have 2 new-to-us strollers with the larger wheels. One is a single stroller that Daddy usually takes the girls running with him, one at a time of course. And then we have a double-stroller that I wanted soI could take both of them. WOW, after a walk with that, I'm so exhausted but feeling good because I KNOW I got a good workout! I'm glad your little cheerleader cheers you too! Gabi, my 4 year old says: "Mama. I don't like being too far from home." And continues to say that throughout the entire trip! So funny!

I'm looking forward to seeing you in those black pants, as I am looking forward to going to get my OWN! Maybe tomorrow I can actually say that I"m going to get them! It would have to wait until Wednesday to happen but I WILL get my pants if it hit my mark!

Oh one more thing: Hope dinner is great! Curious to know what you made from scratch! (WOW, alot of work but SO worth it in the end!)

I'm sitting here watching Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution and I am completely blown away by some of what I've seen. First Grade kids that don't know what basic produce is-like tomatoes and potatoes! They had no idea that a french fry started as a potato. A demo of the kind of stuff that chicken nuggets are really made of. A visual example of how much fat is consumed in an elementary school in one year. Ugh, it's terrifying really.

In other news, I had a pretty low key exercise day. I did some strength training and I'll get some yoga in before bed. I'm still pretty tired from yesterday and we had a busy day today. Tomorrow will be as well, but I've already planned my run and I'm teaching tots in the morning.

In other news, thanks to my Spark Friend MILMOM2000NEW, I was challenged to get to 140 by the end of March. On the line is a new pair of black slacks. Well, I had a coupon that had to be used this week, so this morning I did a tentative weigh in and I was at 139 (unofficially). So, I went to Fashion Bug to use my coupon before it expired. I got my new pair of slacks (though I'll wait until Monday and my official weigh in to take the tags off and wear them). The best part is that the 10s were too big...I came home with a pair of SIZE 8 pants!! I have never worn single digits as an adult. I'm aware that if I had bought these pants the last time I was this size, they would probably be a 10, but, I'm ok with that! emoticon

As long as I eat well this weekend and get my bottom moving, there is no reason I shouldn't be able to conquer this milestone by Monday. 120's here I come!!

    Congrats on getting into the 8's! What a reward for all your hard work!
I watched Jamie Oliver on Oprah yesterday and when they showed the double sized caskets that was quite the eye opener. I liked how he talked about health instead of focusing on weight and not buying everything in boxes. I used to be that mom. Now I rarely buy anything in a box.

    I'm actually not durprised kids don't know food. My niece didn't realize broccoli grew. She refused to eat my home grown veggies becaus ethey didn't look perfect like those in the grocery store. It took months to get her to eat fress veggies from a garden.

    Woo-hoo on the 8s!

Depending on the brand and the age of the item (I shop in thrift & consignment stores) I've been surprised to fit into those, too!

I just have to make sure there isn't a frickin' "P" on the dang label. The smaller I go, the more often I see that, and it's really really annoying to try something on and have the sleeves halfway to my elbows, or the cuffs high-water floods at almost (but not quite) capri length!

    Thanks for the comments and well-wishes everyone! Yeah, that show was really eye opening. I certainly wasn't the picture of health before I joined SP, but my 3 yo could ask for a mango by name and had grown her own tomatoes! It's amazing what regulations and budget cuts have done to our school systems. Not to mention the cycle of family life that encourages these behaviors.

    I couldn't believe that the school was having pizza for breakfast. I loved that they buried the fryer. I pray that our public school systems come to the realization that they are a big contributing factor to our children's obesity problems. Where are the fruits, where are the vegetables. Where are the lunch ladies that really did cook like when I went to school. Thanks for sharing and caring.

    I'm watching that show too! I was REALLY shocked when he held up a Tomato and said "What is this?" And a kid replied "potatoe". Really really frightening! Do they not teach this in health class like when I was a kid?

Anyway! Great job on the new pant size! Thats a GREAT accomplishment! :)

    YOU ARE ROCKIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIPPY! Size 8's huh? Oh I'm right there behind ya! My new black pants are calling me too! Think I might go to Cato and get them. Oh.........I guess that sounds like I have faith that I'm going to hit my 185 by Monday huh? Heee heeee I want too. I have been trying to do better but I just don't know if it will happen!

On the scale, I haven't really hidden it. It is still sitting out in the open for me to see which is SUCH a temptation! But I KNOW that I'm going to wait until Monday! I have a birthday party tomorrow that we are going to Applebee's for along with a birthday cake that I made. I'm going to be good. And THANK GOD, Applebee's has that lower calorie menu. I WILL be eating off of that tomorrow!

Congrats again on the pants! Now, Monday, you best post pictures in your new pants with NO tags! Congrats to you sweetie! I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO proud!

Making it happen!

I busted it out today! Ate well, had a great day with Alexis, and got some yard work done. In between all of that, I did W2D2 of the C25K (2.6 miles in 30 min=12 min/mi) and then did an hour long Zumba class tonight. I'm beat but feeling good. The run felt really good, I even added a 20 second sprint at the end. I also really enjoyed the Zumba class and will take more when I can find a more reliable sitter.

Tomorrow will be a pretty laid back day, I'm thinking. Then finishing up W2 of C25K on Saturday.

Goals for tomorrow:
72+ oz water
AM work out (30DS)
PM Yoga
