Making it happen!

Thursday, March 25, 2010

I busted it out today! Ate well, had a great day with Alexis, and got some yard work done. In between all of that, I did W2D2 of the C25K (2.6 miles in 30 min=12 min/mi) and then did an hour long Zumba class tonight. I'm beat but feeling good. The run felt really good, I even added a 20 second sprint at the end. I also really enjoyed the Zumba class and will take more when I can find a more reliable sitter.

Tomorrow will be a pretty laid back day, I'm thinking. Then finishing up W2 of C25K on Saturday.

Goals for tomorrow:
72+ oz water
AM work out (30DS)
PM Yoga
In bed by 10:00

I did my Week 2 workout for week 1 because I accidentally deleted Week 1 off of my mp3 player.

I went about 2.2 miles today (in the pouring rain...)

Great job!

Pushing Forward

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Well, I didn't meet all my goals for today. There is no way I can get in 72 oz of water before bed (I think I'll have 40) and I didn't get in a walk after work...but...I did walk the 1/2 mile to and from work and for lunch (so 2 miles total, broken into 4 parts, 6 min each). I'm really tired today, so I decided not to push too much. I did eat really well though.

I'm looking forward to W2D2 of C25K tomorrow and then I'll take Alexis to the library for story hour. I'm also going to get in my 20 min ab workout in the morning. As long as I can continue to eat well through the weekend, this should be a much better week for me.

Goals for tomorrow:
72+ oz water
AM work out (20 minutes abs)
C25K, W2D1 after work
PM Yoga
In bed by 10:00

Back on track (again)

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

I'm determined to use this week to make up for last week, I would really like to be at (or below) 140#s to give me a total of 50#s lost. If I can do it, it will put me at 8#s down for March and still on track to be at my goal weight by June. Since this is also the last full week of the month, I'll be taking measurements next week and I'd like to be at less than a 30" waist. If I make it, I'll be rewarding myself (along with another Spark Friend) with a new pair of black slacks for work.

To that end, I'm going to up my fruit and veggies, eat well and kick up my exercise. Yesterday was BFBM (50 minutes circuit training) and today was 20 minutes of core ST on the ball and 30 minutes of jogging (walk/run intervals). Tomorrow is likely going to be 30DS (since I have to be at work at 7:30) with hopefully a walk in the afternoon (if I don't have to teach gymnastics).

Today I started week 2 of Couch to 5K. It's intervals of 90 seconds running/2 min walking. Even though it was misty/drizzling/blah rain, I did it anyway and I felt really good after. *Almost* like a...runner. I'm looking forward to Thursday, which should be much nicer weather, for W2D2.

I'm going to get in some yoga instead of watching Biggest Loser and then go to bed early. I'll have to play catch up with the DVR this weekend! Goals for today will be met.

Goals for tomorrow:
72+ oz water
AM work out (30DS)
Walk after work (1 mile/20 min)
PM Yoga
In bed by 10:00

You're doing great! I forgot to mention that if you don't want to, or can't join me for Zumba, I go to the Y most every evening after work and can go in the early morning if that works better for you. I'm pretty flexible. :-)

Keep up the good work and hopefully we'll catch up for a workout or class this week.

Dissapointing Weigh-In Today

Monday, March 22, 2010

I had my weigh-in this morning, for the first time since I started with SP, I showed a gain. Ok, ok, it was .3#, but still! I think I gave too much credit to my "running" last week and slacked a bit on my exercise. I also know that, even though I tracked everything and was still on the low end of my calories, I snacked more than usual and didn't always eat the healthiest foods last week-I was running, so I was hungry! LOL! If only it had really worked that way.

I'm tightening up this week though, I have goals to meet! Did Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism earlier and I plan on doing abs tomorrow morning before work. Week 2 of Couch to 5K also starts tomorrow, that will happen after work (when it has hopefully stopped raining.)

Today was rough, but I got a lot done and actually had a decent day. I plan on meeting all of my goals today with some yoga and bed when I finish typing this. Oh, before I list tomorrow's goals...Cheers to Spark Guy on his new Spark Financial Site!!! Can't wait to try it.

Goals for tomorrow:
72+ oz water
AM work out (20 minutes abs)
C25K, W2D1 after work
PM Yoga
In bed by 10:00

Running does build muscle in your legs...this is where the physiology of it all gets me confused too.

But I do know that muscle weighs more than fat.

Hey don't forget if your working out, don't stick to the lower end of your calorie range. If your hungry, have a snack and make sure its healthy. I found with me that when I'm working out I need to eat more in the middle to the upper end of my calorie range to be effective with weight loss. Your body might be telling you something and you need to eat maybe 100 calories more in a day. Its amazing how we need to eat more (sometimes) to lose weight! Kinda like reverse psychology on our weight! emoticon Keep up the hard work! You will find success!

Julie I agree about the gain could be water. The subs have a lot of sodium and I bet the chicken wing dip does too. I bet if you weigh yourself Wednesday you will be back to normal. You are doing fantastic keep it up my friend!

Looonnnnggg (but beautiful) day!

Sunday, March 21, 2010

Today I woke up and had back to back birthday parties for my daughter's friends, 4 and 5. I wasn't as active as I would have liked at them, but I didn't eat much either. I think the only party food I was was a couple bites each of pizza and cake (without frosting). Even though we had lunch out, I was really good and I ended up pretty low in my calories for the day.

When we got home from the parties, I immediately started in on some work in the garden. I got 3 beds cleaned out in about an hour and a half-so I ended up logging that as my exercise today. Then, I had choir practice tonight. When I got home, I joined my hubby over by the fire at the neighbors house for an hour-I think that was the best part of the day!

I have decided that I will complete Week 2 of the couch to 5K on Tues, Thurs, Sat again this week. It looks like the weather will be better those days...here's hoping! Saturday will likely be my first day doing it while pushing the stroller, so we'll see how that goes.

Goals for tomorrow:
AM workout (30-45 min cardio +ST)
72+ oz water
PM Yoga
In bed by 10:00

Good luck on week 2 of C25K. I just did the first day today. We have rain forecast for Monday, Tuesday (showers) and Friday this week. I hope it is dry on Tuesday so that I can get 2 runs in during the week.
