I realize that in addition to weekends, vacations really are not good for me. I stay up late, go out, eat whatever is around, don't drink my water...

Now I'm going to spend this week getting back into my good habits. I'm going to do the 28 day New you Bootcamp. I had started it last week, but didn't keep at it, so since today is the 1st of the month, and a Monday, it's the perfect time to reboot. I ran 3 miles this morning early, my next race is in 2 weeks. It's a 5K, and I likely won't race it, but it will give me the motivation to get out the door on a regular basis.

How is everyone else doing with the beginning of the holiday rush??

Make this week great!
Julie

While I haven't blogged in almost 2 weeks, I have been sparking. I finished my 28 day boot camp strong, been getting back into running more steadily and have been working at moderating my nutrition. This weekend was pretty terrible as far as taking care of myself, but I got a lot done for my family and friends.

This last week I took it easy but I plan to kick it up again this week. I did get in an early run one day with Alexis. At 8 years old she asked to wake up at 5:45 and run 3 miles with me in below freezing temps. I also got to teach PE one day this week, so since I was wearing my sneakers, I walked Alexis the half mile to school, ran back a mile to the school I was teaching at, taught my 2 gym classes, ran back to pick up A and walked home.

On Friday, I registered or paid for 4 races and signed up for another year's membership to my local running club. I have a 5 mile race on Thanksgiving morning, 2 5ks in December, a 4 race series of 10ks in January, a half and a 15k in March, a 77.7 mile relay race in April and a half in May. Here's hoping the upcoming race season goes better for me than the one we just finished! Oh, and I may end up running the NYC marathon in November.

Time to get training, let's make it a great week!

This is wonderful! It's so hard for me to believe that you were ever overweight! For 6 years I walked my kids to and from the school I worked at. It was an easy and happy way to stay fit.

Had a nice day today with a friend. It was an amazingly gorgeous day in upstate NY and we spent some time walking along a local river walk while our girls rode bikes. Stayed up way too late last night talking to an old friend, so not much energy today, but I did double up my boot camp video today. One more week of the 28 day bootcamp left and I'm feeling pretty good.

I did measurements today. My goal was to be at 150 this morning and I got to 152.5, but I lost inches at nearly every point I measure. I'll take it as a win. Next goal is 140 by Christmas. Now that I'm tracking food regularly and eating better, the next step is to kick up my workouts...stop staying up late and start getting up earlier. To that end, I joined the "cool kids" from our local running club and signed up for a half marathon in March. Time to get serious about my running again.

Tonight is trivia night. Plan is for dessert and 1 drink. Here's hoping we win tonight!

Make tomorrow great!

Julie, hope you had a great time last night. And good for you for signing up for that half marathon. When I was in high school, we used to have a walk-a-thon. 26 miles! But we walked. I couldn't ever run even half a marathon. :--) Good luck!

Still here and still Sparking strong. The weekend kind of got away from me. Lots of running around and household chores, especially yesterday. I've finished week 3 of my bootcamp, gojavascript:%20void(0);t in a good run this morning and have a fun evening planned with some runner friends.

I'm feeling much more myself and am ready to kick things up a notch. I'm going to just miss my goal of 150#s by tomorrow, but it's okay. I've made steady progress in the right direction and I knew it was going to be a tough goal. Time to assess what worked this last 5 weeks and what didn't and make the appropriate changes. I've got this!

Make it a great week!

Weds 11/5/14

Wednesday, November 05, 2014

I was excited to get up and run this morning, it was forecast to be a bit warmer than average and we've had some really lovely days. Unfortunately when I got up it was raining. I don't normally mind running in the rain, but my temp cutoff if about 50*, and it was close to 40 this am. So, since I was up anyway, I did my boot camp video and my 30 day shred video.

Today was a pretty easy day at work, I even had time to fit in 30 minutes of yoga. I also (finally) ordered a Road ID. They are on sale for about the next 36 hours. 25% off all IDs if you have ever thought about getting one.

Good day, make tomorrow even better!
