Time in Mo.

Monday, June 11, 2012

We got a much later start to our vacation than we had planned. Our friends granddaughter was in a horrific motorcycle accident the day before we left. All last week while we were at Lake of the Ozarks we thought we would be heading back home as she required several long operations---but there was nothing any of us could do for her; they talked with her every day. We arrived in Branson on Sunday and thought we would only be here for a few days as she was due to go home and our friends thought they would be needed back home to help her during the day while the rest of the family worked. Today she went home and our friends were told to stay on vacation as she can get around pretty well on her own. So we will be heading home this Sunday. Have been walking and shopping, but haven't got as much exercise as when I am at home( guess every bit helps) I have been watching what I eat and only had one day of oh-oh to much food for a day. I'm hoping to keep the pounds I lost off, but with not as much exercisemwill have to see what happens.

Sounds like a good time walking. The hills can really give you a great workout. Have you taken in any shows? They have such good ones. We are looking forward to getting back there and one show we love are the 12 Irish Tenors. Of course, I think "Noah" is back or coming back soon. Fantastic show!! I could go on & on. Sending prayers to your friend's granddaughter. Have a safe and relaxing return home on Sunday! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I am sorry to hear about your friend grand-daughter and the accident but it seems that God is in control and everything will be alright.
I hope that despite the unknown outcome of the trip to Mo you have fun and focus on something relaxing. I think as long as you do not have too many days of going over on calories and keep moving you will do fine. I find that even though I may not work out to the point of sweating the more activity I do during the day I can still burn some calories which is a good thing

Catching Up

Friday, May 18, 2012

This week is going so quickly, here comes the weekend. I have had some good exercise workouts this week and really do enjoy going to the Y for line dancing on Wednesday and Zumba on Friday; added to the mix of walking water aerobics and strength exercies. The time flys by during the group dance exercise and have a great time; before you know it your getting sweaty and pooped.
On the home front I'm still working getting the heavy cleaning done, slow but surely. I have a few more things I want to accomplish before we leave for vacation on June third for two weeks---looking forward to a change of pace. We should get home right about or on Fathers Day. Will have about10 days to get the house ready fo DD and family to come home for a visit. Hopefully, DGD will stay with us for a bit , then on the road to get her back to Kansas---so going to be a busy couple of months along with fitting in some doctor appointments in there too.

Long day Monday, Much Better Day Today

Tuesday, May 01, 2012

Yesterday was an eleven hour wait at the hospital for my DH's angiogram and angioplasty. WE were so releaved when they were able to clear the two blockages going to his heart and didn't need by-pass surgery. This past weekend was real trying for him as he was having the episodes just sitting doing nothing. I did manage to get some walking in the corridors of the hospital. He is thrilled that he is allowed to golf this Friday.
Today I went to the Y and did both some strength exercises and water aerobics, so much nicer than sitting at a hospital. We went to a mini family reunion this evening with some of his cousins and his sister and hubby. Yes we both had healthy meals of broiled fish and steamed veggies.
Tomorrow is the first day of line dancing at the Y we go to and I'm planning on going to that, then some water aerobics again, as long as hubby keeps feeling fine.

My husband had a an angioplast and stent for his heart. And 2 years ago I had an angioplasty and 2 stents in my main artery at the top of my right leg/groin.

We have both had no problem with them, your husband is going to be good as new.

I'm so glad that everything went well!! emoticon

Here's hoping Hubby will be much better in the days to come and that his golf game on Friday is great. You be sure to take care of him and YOUr self! Keep up the good work! emoticon emoticon

Glad to hear your husband is on the mend and eating well. It is so important for you both to be on board with taking good care of yourselves and your successes will build on themselves and help you encourage each other in the rough spots. It is hard to change but you are on a good path. So excited to hear of your classes at the Y! Keep it up! emoticon

Wonderful news Francine. Praying he continues improving. Our son had stents put in after his heart attack 10 yrs ago and he has done great since. Wish he would eat healthier but can't make him do anything. He was 33 then.

Oh what miracles God can do. I am glad you do not need to set at the hospital today but WooHoo for making good use of the time by walking while you waited for your DH to have the medical procedure. I am glad you made a wise food choice at the mini family reunion. Keep working on staying active and as your DH heals I hope he is able to get more active with you. emoticon
