How Would You Feel If?

Monday, February 27, 2012

I had my annual appointment with my Firomyalgia doctor today. Seeing him went well, he was pleased that I had lost some weight since my last visit and that I'm still exercising. He will now be retiring in a few months and there is where my problem lies. The nurse told me that they will NOT be seeing Fibro patients as they won't have any doctors to see Fibro patients once he leaves. Oh really, this is a specialist office for that type of problems. She said check with your primary doctor to see if he would order your meds or have him recommend another doctor. I and my DH finds this unbelievable, seems like they just don't want to be bothered unless you need to keep coming to see the doctors continually. She did give me a card with the doctor coming in place of the one leaving, but just in case I have an issue not finding someone etc. These are all specialists in this feild, they must not want to see Fibro patients is my guess---well bombshell for them---it would be an emergency in a hospital setting before I'd see any of the rest of them once my doctor leaves the end of April.

That sounds very annoying. I hope you find a suitable alternative.

That is really odd. Is it that they already have all of their patient spots full? I know that my NP left my clinic this past year and the clinic sent me a list of Dr.'s who were taking new patients so that I could choose one. I know some of the Dr.'s at the clinic were not on the list but I am sure that is because they are not taking new patients. I wonder if they are thinking of closing or something. ??? Good luck with your search.

That's a bummer you have to find another clinic. Good doctors are hard to find, even in the same clinic.

That sounds like they made the decision when your doctor decided to retire otherwise they would have found a doctor that would replace him. Doesn't sound like good business sense. Hopefully you can find a new specialist that is convenient for you.

I would complain - that's ridiculous - how often do you have to see this specialist?

I hope you can take care of this issue - you pay insurance to be taken care of -

I Ask--How Would You Feel If?

Monday, February 27, 2012

Today I had my annual check up appointment with my Fibromyalia doctor, have been seeing him for about roughly ten years. The appointment went well with the doctor, but it was the nurse that told me that since this doctor is retiring in a few months they no longer would have a doctor available to see just Fibromyalgia /arthritis patients. Now I should find out if my primary would order meds or see if he recommends someone else to see---REALLY! My money has been good up until now, whats with this clinic? I can't be the only one, if fact he usually has plenty of pqatients to see whenever I'm there. My DH just couldn't believe what they had said, thats when I began getting real ticked off. Oh and the nurse gave me a card with the doctor coming in to replace my Dr.---maybe if you have any real problem she could do or see you---what is this to make the clinic feel less guilty? Well, got my vent in, don't think I would teturn there unless my doctor decides to come back part time( he is keeping his license just in case he detests retirement). Had my vent am feeling better now, did get a little walking in today and doctor is so pleaased with the xercise I do, says it is a great help for the fibromyalgia to keep moving when possible.

I don't blame you for being ticked off. Best of luck in finding someone you trust and will treat you with the respect you deserve.

Winter Finally Here

Tuesday, February 21, 2012

Ah! The weatherpeople get ity right, we got 2.7 inches of heavy wet snow starting last evening. Yup, today my cardio was hand shoveling that wet white stuff. Let's see once last week, today and sounds like Thursday, maybe Friday too. Mor of the white stuff planned for Sunday and Monday---enough already. Seems like now it doesn't want to quit ( groan). Lucky for me today the neighbor did the city sidewalk for me and our front walk, I had the side walk and steps and driveway to do. Then after the fact hubby said he could have showed me how to run the snow snowblower, ya right him out there with his crutches---don't think so. Besides just moving the snowblower wouldn't have given me all that heavy lifting and throwing the snow with the shovel. Tomorrow we find out if hubby can toss the crutches aside and start walking with the boot--now he is concerned about that, we'll just have to see how the doctor appointment goes tomorrow afternoon.

Glad to hear your hubby is making progress but even with the boot - and since you have snow - you ahve to be careful.

I am still waiting for winter here in California - hot today - in the 70s the nights are in the 50s - I would like to have winter

We ended up with about six inches. Like you I opted for the shovel rather than the snow blower for the exercise. It sounds like we could get a big dumping again from Sunday through Monday. Mother Nature has sure been mixed up this season hasn't she?

Don't overdo it and safe travels!

I am glad to hear that some moisture is finally getting to our area. I know that may not be what to say when I am sitting with 80 degree temps!! We have a stray shower possible tonight and the some rain through Sat. A cool front is coming through and dropping the temps to about 70 (so it is cool to the natives, not me!!)
Take care and don't do too much lifting and throwing with the heavy stuff!! You don't want to be laid up as well!!

Winding Down

Saturday, February 18, 2012

So glad to see this day winding down. It has been a fast moving, busy day for me. Started out by finishing the hoise cleaning that I started yesterday. I needed to take hubby to the Home Depot to pick up a few things ( he still isn't driving, maybe mid week coming up), and stop for coffee and read a bit. I needed to bring the dog to the groomer and then go pick up hubby's birthday cake( today is his 70th birthday. I started supper, got that in the oven, then picked up the dog. With all my running around, did get in some good walking( always park further away to get those steps. Then tonight, friends came in the help celebrate with the birthday guy---I'd be pooped, except had chocolate cake so wida awake.
Got to the Y for pool execises once this week on Monday, they must have put extra chemicals in the pool as I sure have been really rubbing the lotion on but still having problems. Hoping this next week will be better and can water exercise much more, but got to take care of the skin too---so more walking this week for me. Hoping everyone has a great weekend.
