Wheres The Week

Friday, April 20, 2012

Where has this week gone, can't believe its Friday already, although we have had a go, go week. I got to the Y three times and have gotten strength exercises in twice, walking, aerobics twice and Zumba this morning long with the second water aerobics in. When we were done at the Y my friend and I went out for lunch ar Panera and visited some; followed bu a little shopping so more walking. We actually made it home before our hubbys, as they went golfing today. Now we are going to meet this same couple to go out to dinner, as they have another committment for tomorrow night. Hope all my fellow sparkers have a great weekend.

This And That

Thursday, April 05, 2012

My goodness noticed I haven't written a blog since 3/14---time to catch up.
Hubby has been doing great with walking without the boot on, but knows when the foot gets fatigued, can make it aroung the block and the limping is less each day. Hopefully his Dr. will let him go golfing after he sees him next Wednesday---( he has gone twice now and has worn the boot, I'll feel bettter when Dr. oks it).
We have been busy running around getting errands done qnd going to the Y---he can now do the strenth exercises, so he feels better about that, so I get some water areobics and strength work in too.
Daughter called and they will be coming up the end of June and will be staying through the 4th of July--she will be surprised with the changes we have been making on the house, and we will be glad to see them too. We have been loving our new beds, and I have been getting the best sleep in years. I elevate both head and knee area and get so relaxed and pressure is off my kness---should have done this years ago.
In closing I'm wishing all myChristian spark friends a very happy Easter.

Room Almost Done---Update On DH

Thursday, March 15, 2012

Such a great feeling that everything we wanted to get done in the bedroom is finished. Installers will deliver the bed tomorrow and install it. After their done will move a few pieces of furniture out of the large closet, that we kept out of the way to allow more space for them to work with. Tomorrow will give the new bed a try, but sure enjoyed getting all the exercise wjile redoing the room.
DH had what he thought was his last Dr. appointment with the orthopedic surgeon----NOT. He now told him , he can walk around the house without the boot, but needs it when going out anywhere. Gave him exercises to do, and need to increase by 10 each every week, and go back and see him in one month. Of course this means no golfing, which he was hoping to do this Saturday. He found out tho that a total of 60 exercises today wore him out( muscle tone and ligaments out of great stamina after in the boot for six weeks).

How nice it must feel to get the room done.

Your husband is on his way to getting better - but needs to listen to the doctor. Soon he will be able to golf.

Great news for the DH. PT is more important than surgery if he wants it to have full function in the future. We want pictures of the completed bedroom!

Excellent! Know how you feel, we are so close to finishing our breezeway! Put a new addition on the house a few years ago and still have finishing touches.

The better he sticks with the workouts, the quicker he'll go back to walking properly. I wish him a speedy recovery.

Enjoy the new bedroom!

I'm sure your DH is frustrated, but as REDSHOES2011 stated so well, it's best that he take it slow (yeah, I know all too well how fellas can get impatient)......best wishes to you both, as I'm sure this has been challenging for you to deal with as well!

Tell hubby baby steps, rehab is just as important as getting that boot off.. Better to heal totally then regrets later in life..

What A Week

Saturday, March 10, 2012

It all stated on Monday when we went an bought a new bed freame and matresses. We came home and decided asince we have until the 15th before their delivered we should do some work upstairs. We started by removing the carpet, moving furt=iture around to get every bit removed. We had to then clean up the mess from the remnent pieces of padding (what a job). So today we're taking a break, we only vaccummed the ceiling and walls down. I have really been getting my workouts in, and I'm feeling it today. WE still have a few more things to do upstairs but it is coming along quicker than we had expected. This has go me in the mood, so will start tackling one room at a time each week and get the spring cleaning well under waIt sure is a change of pace with the exercise and really poops me out.

I love it when the house gets all clean, organized, and new furniture or carpet.

We pulled up carpet a few years ago, yikes-there were sooo many staples in the floor. It took hours.

It is great exercise, with a great room when you are done!

How Would You Feel If?

Monday, February 27, 2012

I had my annual appointment with my Firomyalgia doctor today. Seeing him went well, he was pleased that I had lost some weight since my last visit and that I'm still exercising. He will now be retiring in a few months and there is where my problem lies. The nurse told me that they will NOT be seeing Fibro patients as they won't have any doctors to see Fibro patients once he leaves. Oh really, this is a specialist office for that type of problems. She said check with your primary doctor to see if he would order your meds or have him recommend another doctor. I and my DH finds this unbelievable, seems like they just don't want to be bothered unless you need to keep coming to see the doctors continually. She did give me a card with the doctor coming in place of the one leaving, but just in case I have an issue not finding someone etc. These are all specialists in this feild, they must not want to see Fibro patients is my guess---well bombshell for them---it would be an emergency in a hospital setting before I'd see any of the rest of them once my doctor leaves the end of April.

BELLE0308 2/28/2012 11:27AM

That is really odd. Is it that they already have all of their patient spots full? I know that my NP left my clinic this past year and the clinic sent me a list of Dr.'s who were taking new patients so that I could choose one. I know some of the Dr.'s at the clinic were not on the list but I am sure that is because they are not taking new patients. I wonder if they are thinking of closing or something. ??? Good luck with your search.

That's a bummer you have to find another clinic. Good doctors are hard to find, even in the same clinic.

NEELIXNKES 2/28/2012 10:02AM

That sounds like they made the decision when your doctor decided to retire otherwise they would have found a doctor that would replace him. Doesn't sound like good business sense. Hopefully you can find a new specialist that is convenient for you.

they are doctors s first and they specialist of what is what I would ask,,, I would find another pratice and not go to them and complain to higher ups

MARLINDA5 2/27/2012 11:51PM

I would complain - that's ridiculous - how often do you have to see this specialist?

I hope you can take care of this issue - you pay insurance to be taken care of -
