I didn't let the cold wheather keep me in!

Saturday, November 05, 2011

My alarm went off at 6am this morning, ready for my Saturday morning walk with my husband went to pull back to covers and man it was cold, turned on the TV to find that it was 35 chilling degrees outside, rain yesterday has diffinately put a chill in the air. I was all set to say no way am i going out for a walk in this weather, well my husband convinced me not to break our streak so I got up and got dressed, plenty of layers, a heave coat, scraf, head scraf and to top it off my coat hat and we were off. We completed 7.249 mile walk in 2 hours and 2 minutes, it was not bad at all while we were moving but when we stopped, the chill set in. I am glad William convinced me not to break our streak. So if you have it in you "get walking" just bundle up!

My Saturday Morning Walk

Saturday, August 13, 2011

This morning my husband (William) woke me up for our Saturday morning walk @ 6:30am and we are usually ready to leave about 7am and we are off, he never tells me where we are going because he knows that if I know the route and think it is to long I will complain and he is right, so we take off heading down JFK for 2 miles to Vista Del Lago High School and then down to Iris another mile I am sure, then we head down Iris to Perris Blvd another 2 miles then down Perris Blvd back to JKF and then home, my pedometer read 11,502 and a total of 5.7 miles. I did it who would have thought 9 months ago I would have been able to do this, eating right, drinkin pleanty of water, logging every bite of food, I have to admit it is a challange and "I DID IT" and yes I will do it again. Have a great day all and thank you baby for the motivation, I love you.

Small accomplishments make a BIG difference

Friday, July 29, 2011

This morning I put on a pair of jeans that I had not worn in some time and to my surprise I was able to slip them on, zip and button and had room left, in addition once I got to work and sat down the jeans did not roll below by belly fat. I know this sounds strange but I can notice the difference and damn it it fells good. So even though I have hit a plateau and I am not losing pounds I can certainly tell I am losing inches, and I have to pat myself on the back because I passed up on the Krispy Kreme donuts someone brought into work.

I was a baker years ago and my favorite saying to justify the way I looked was, " A skinny baker is bad advertising!" So I know how hard it is to pass on the baked goodies.

Blood Donation Failure - Results

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

Well I called the doctor and advised that I had a low iron count and was unable to donate blood and in addition had experienced episodes of dizziness. The doctor ordered a CBC and wanted to see me in his office in a few days. Fast forward, I saw the doctor and he advised my labs were all perfect and the explanation he gave for my dizziness is "VERTIGO", which from my research and his explanation its a viral infection that resolves itself, he did however put me on a med that would lessen the effects of the dizziness as they arise. The dizziness subsided but turned into a low grade headache which has now resolved itself, so all is well he did advise the dizziness could return from time to time and if it does I have the meds. Well at least their was an explanation not sure that I like it but it is what it is and "this to shall pass" have a good day all and let's Spark on.

I used to donate blood. All was well until I tried to donate back in 2005 after having had a stroke. When they did the finger prick I found out I was anemic. Thought it was a once in a lifetime issue. Nope. My blood count continued to drop and I have been anemic since. No more donating blood for me.
