I need your motivation!!!!!!!

I'm 10 pounds away from my 1st goal of 70 pounds lost but I have lost my motivation. Since my car accident and actually prior to I have not been able to get it moving. I'm battling with Vertigo and that is real tough because I tend to lose my balance when standing up and walking. I also want to start so strength training but have no idea where to start, up until now I have concentrated on cardio, I have lost pounds and inches but now I also want to tighten it up especially in the mid section if you know what I mean. Any and all advise would be greatly appreciated and if anyone has battled with vertigo I would love to hear and about and know what you did to conquer it. Thanks Sparkers in advance

    I just started adding strength training to my workout routine. I only do about 15 min 4-5 days a week because cardio still is my main exercise. Check out SP for a routine that will fit your schedule and needs. Just be mindful that the mid section is the hardest to lose so you might to do an all over body workout and alternate with mid section workout outs. Also check out Tifanny Rothe on youtube- she has this shaking booty video that will work your abs standing up! I hate ab work on the floor but she has those workout as well. They are also about 10 min. I hope you feel better and remember emoticon

    Hi Natasha,
I'm sorry for the road block you are enduring, with God for you who are what can be against you...I can't say I familiar with Vertigo but I would suggest checking YouTube for video with individuals with Vertigo who have found ways to be active. Maybe just researching on the internet, I don't want to make suggestions to you and cause you to hurt yourself or be in discomfort anymore than you are. Maybe you can start a light strength training at home with 1, 2 or 3 pd weights (which ever is comfortable to you) and begin maybe sets 5 sets of different training. Example bicep curls or maybe when you are lying down you can do chest presses (maybe that's not the right term) emoticon. This way you can work your core while lying and still get an effective strengthening in the process. Please I'm no professional so please make sure your comfortable and get a trainers input. I'm praying for you and with you and know you will get back on track.

P.S. Just thought this, checkout Paul Eugene on YouTube he has exercise you can perform while sitting.

Devistating car accident

I can't type much beacuse I broke my hand so I will let the pictures do the talking......

Some idiot lost their ladder in the carpool lane of the freeway and I hit it going 75 miles per hour, i'm lucky to have my life, my car was totaled.

    wow that's so scary!! I'm glad you're okay with some exceptions like your hand. You're right though, as scary and frustrating as it is, you're alive and will be okay. That's what's really important. Cars can be replaced.

    Oh. My. God. You are SOOOO blessed to still be alive. I had something similar happen several years ago, and now I'm super sensitive to vehicles carrying things that might not be well strapped down.

A walk in the mall on a rainey day!

Today it was to cold to walk in the neighborhood, it was a cold 29 this morning so my husband and I still wanted to get in our cardio workout today so we headed to the mall for the first time. I didn't think I would be able to get the same workout but to my surprise I did, It was a bit cool in the mall and I didn't particularly care for the music, but once I got my walk on the music didn't matter and I was actually sweating by time we were done. We completed a 1 hour and 7 minute walk, which ended up being 4.6 miles for me which was great. Then we went and got some shopping done, not in the mall but at 4 different grocery stores which gave me another 60 minutes of walking, so all and all it ended up being a great day for a walk even with the cold and rain. Pneumonia November 2011

It's been 3 days since I was diagnosed with Pneumonia but i'm feeling better, I'm a little discourged because of the weight gain but I know that I can't exercise right now and when I recover I can get back to living again, right now I know it's more important for me to recovery and I will. Not to mention my blood sugars are all over the place because of the meds. Doctor says 2 weeks before I can get back to normal so for now patience and rest are my plans.

    So sorry to hear you have been ill. I am hoping that you are feeling much better this week. My son had pneumonia last year and I remember it took awhile for him to gain back his strength. Take care.

I didn't let the cold wheather keep me in!

My alarm went off at 6am this morning, ready for my Saturday morning walk with my husband went to pull back to covers and man it was cold, turned on the TV to find that it was 35 chilling degrees outside, rain yesterday has diffinately put a chill in the air. I was all set to say no way am i going out for a walk in this weather, well my husband convinced me not to break our streak so I got up and got dressed, plenty of layers, a heave coat, scraf, head scraf and to top it off my coat hat and we were off. We completed 7.249 mile walk in 2 hours and 2 minutes, it was not bad at all while we were moving but when we stopped, the chill set in. I am glad William convinced me not to break our streak. So if you have it in you "get walking" just bundle up!
