Pain

emoticon Trying hard to combat this pain. I really want to continue with this regimen on staying on track with eating. I enjoy Spark People and all the support that is given. My problem is this: once I began the program different types of illnesses or pain has crept up. I generally can handle it as I have a high tolerance for pain but this is getting to be ridiculous.

Now I have been diagnosed with tendonitis in both arms. How could this be. Thank God its not what was originally thought (rotator cuff tear). I really do not like nor take the medicine that is prescribed so I guess I will be in pain. I am currently looking for a second opinion to get me over this hurdle.

    I definitely recommend physical therapy if it is an option for you.
Also if the meds they have prescribed you do not help or you do not like how they make you feel, I suggest you let them know, they can try a different approach. I always recommend a second opinion also, just to verify what is wrong.

I hope that you get to feeling better soon. If it hurts too much to workout right now, I suggest just trying to stick to the eating right now.

    can you get massage or physio help? I havent any suggestions really other than I have arthritis and it is helping me a lot finally.

    Do find a way to modify your exercise and continue on you food tracking. Can you focus on core work and legs while your arms get better? emoticon

emoticon Well I'm at the danger zone and need help in surviving and reviving my lost. There is so much stress in my life at this time that I've just about given up. But something hit me on the head (figuratively) and woke me up. After getting the foot healed I developed a arm/shoulder problem. i thought this would be easy to maneuver but find out differently. I really need help with some of the ordinary basic things of the day.

My clothes are fitting better but the scale is going back up. HELP!!! I completed the 4 stage of Stage Coach and now working on the Plateau area. How do you exercise with a bad arm/shoulder?

Looking for a exercise partner or someone to direct me to a gym. Yes, I do better with competition. Why? Who knows. Just don't seem to make it alone in exercising. I have so much equipment there should be no reason for not doing it. But I guess procrastination is the new thing for me. Pleas advise with suggestions. really need to get off this rollercoaster. emoticon

    Well, if the clothes are fitting and you've beenworking out at all, I'd go with the muscle weighs more than fat" standard. As for exercise without arm/shoulder - walking, stationary bike. That's all I can think of at the moment.

Getting Healthier while losing weight

I now know that I am losing weight without getting on the scale. It may not be a lot as it may be inches instead.

Yesterday I put on an outfit that I had recently had dry cleaned. The pants were literally falling off me. If it wasn't for my large derrierre, the pants would have been on the floor. What an embarrassment that would have been.

I find that I no longer get out of breath as easily when I climb the stairs. My bad cholesterol level has dropped and good level increased. What a difference being determined makes.

Thanks to the Spark people and Spark site for helping me to achieve this small goal. I will continue until I reach the goal of 61 pounds lost. After the initial goal, I will continue to maintain the lost for years. I enjoy this site and have recommeded others to it.

My doctor is even impressed. emoticon The weight hasn't fallen off but the inches are. What a milestone. I have dropped one dress size with the few pounds and inches lost. emoticon

Struggling

Here I am trying to relieve myself of pain. Had PT today for a ruptured rotator cuff. this is no joke. I was doing find until the PT, but I see it has given me a better range of motion and hope I can keep it going. These exercises are fierce when you haven't used your arm in over two weeks.

I'm really annoyed as I can not exercise the way I want to due to the tear. Who would have thought that I would get sidelined again after having foot surgery. Thank God I didn't give up. I purchased the Total Body Sculpting DVD and cannot do it now per my doctor. I cannot go against his medical advice. I am walking more but haven't gotten up to 10,000 steps a day. I have reached 9,789. Climbed 15 sets of steps in one day.

My 13 week 13 pound challenge has gone kaput also as I celebrated at the president's inauguration and then my birthday. Well I managed to come down this week by .8 of a pound since my last weigh-in but know it should be more. What do you do when you don't know what to do?

Thanks Spark People for the opportunity to vent and air my gripes. I'm beating myself up while continuing to endue this struggle. Help is needed from anyone and everyone. I have read many of the interesting blogs of how people have been successful, what made them turn to SP and why they stayed. I am staying as this is the first program I truly can see results.

I have curtailed the late night eating and even get at least 7.5 to 10 hours sleep a night. This is truly a miracle. Thank you SP, I never week to bed before 1:00 or 2:00 am and was up no later than 7:00 am. How can you lose weight with that schedule?

Well, I'll go for now and continue this journey with my goal of being determined. I will not let this beat me. emoticon emoticon

    You are doing great things. It isn't a race! Everything you listed is progress, which you are accomplishing despite some medical set backs. Stand proud and keep walking. You are fabulous!
