Little Things Mean A Lot.

Hi to all who are reading,

1/2 a pound off this week, well cut my legs off and call me shorty, what can I say?
Well it's better than a poke in the eye with a burnt stick, not much but better than nothing.
Things on the family front are a little better this week only a couple of doctors appointments and my car in for a service.
If I'm lucky that means another pub lunch somewhere.
Thanks to all the people who have commented, sent goodies etc I am really glad to have met you all and I'm happy I've made a few of you laugh.
I hope everyone out there is doing well at the moment.

You are great! Love the cartoon, glad you're family is a little better this week! Hang in there 1/2# is better than gaining a full pound or opening a rotting gallon of milk.

Pardon Me While I Sleep

Hi all,
This is the second attempt to post this Blog. The stinking Internet Explorer keeps cutting out on me. So help me if Bill Gates was in front of me now I'd make him Phillis Gates!!!.
The short story is that I have been very tired this week due to ferrying family members around to various doctors etc.
If I have forgotten to say Hi or respond to anybody, I will get around to it.
I hope you all enjoy the funny this week.

Chuck the Scales, Use the Tape Measure.

Hi All,

Well the weight is staying the same, but the measurements are changing.

I was told it was like re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, now I now the body's not looking like it should, but a wreck!!!

Anyhoo, as I said the weight does not seem to want to change but the tape measure is registering something. I don't know where it's going but there it is...

I hope everyone out there is healthy and doing well.

    I love your comic!!! Too funny!! Just pay attention to the positives. When the scale wasn't moving there for a while I made sure to pay attention to the measurements. That gave me the kick in the butt I needed. You can do it, babe!

No difference this week, surprise, surprise, surprise.
My brothers birthday today, 49 years old. I did a big sponge covered with cream, passion fruit and mangoes.. I'm sure I put on 5 pounds just looking at the thing. Meanwhile he announces that he has lost a couple of pounds eating the same as me.
There is an Aussie saying "May your chooks (chickens) turn into emus and kick your dunny (toilet) down" I reckon he deserves chooks the size of hippos!!
I've worn myself out fixing up the garden ready for winter veggies, shearing the one goat we have (not an easy job when she wont stay still), cleaning up the collected crap around the place and still I don't lose weight. Not fair I say.
I showed my brother the cartoon included this week today, he just about gagged with the idea, I just about peed my pants at his reaction and at the funny.

I hope somewhere out there someone lost some pounds, come to think of that's probably where mine went!

    Well Juleen my last 6 weeks have been zero, zero, one pound, zero, one pound, and zero.

But I've lost 39 altogether so far, so I am being patient w/ my body.

Keeping good thoughts that you see results soon!

    That cartoon is simultaneously disgusting and hysterically funny.

Don't give up!

Its easy to get discouraged but just keep at it. Personally, I made tremendous progress last summer and around October, I stalled out and my weight loss levelled out. The next 5 months saw relatively no change and I stopped exercising in January! I hadn't weighed myself in months because I was afraid that I had gained back about 20 pounds. Finally, when I took my daughter to her doctor appointment, I stepped on the scale and realized that I "only" gained about 8 pounds. Although not good, that's a far cry from what I had feared and it inspired me to get back to exercising. So I've started walking again. Its not much but I know that every little bit helps.

That's the key: every little bit helps. Think long term. Maybe its substituting water for caloric drinks at first. Maybe its just walking a mile a day. Maybe its just an hour extra of sleep a day. But over a period of 2 months, it all adds up.

I didn't meet my weight loss goal as of 12/31/07 like I wanted to but I'm resetting my goal for 12/31/08.

Nothing new but still laughing

Hi all,

I'm getting sick of writing this but nothing new on the weight loss front.

I think I'll have to bite the bullet and risk the snickers and guffaws of my family and do some serious exercising. I've got an old Richard Simmons (don't laugh) exercise tape floating around. Believe it or not if you tune out his voice it is a good 60 minute workout, from the top of the head to the tip of the toes (and all bits and pieces in between).

I had a pub lunch today along with the requisite couple of beers, it was great to have someone else cook the meal for once and NO dishes.

I have joined a couple of new teams this week and met more great people, thanks to all who commented on my page and profile picture. Life's too short not to have a chuckle at things and in saying this I hope you have a laugh at the funny this week.

Good Luck to everyone with their program.

    I remember when I was younger I used to watch Richard Simmons on TV and thinking boy that guy has a lot of energy!!! I wish I had a quarter of that. LOL!

I know what you mean about going out for a meal and not having to clean up afterwards - isn't it wonderful!!!

    I'm reading the book "SHRINK YOURSELF" by ROGER GOULD.

He is a medical doctor and Professor of Psychology at UCLA Medical Center, who has helped 20,000 patients with EMOTIONAL EATING. The book deals with our issue of feeling powerless and how to win over it and stop using food for reasons other than nutrition. It is a good book.

He has an interview at www.youtube.com where he talks about his plan. Just put in ROGER GOULD in the search.
