What the?

Friday, April 04, 2008

Hi all in Blogland,

Things here are pretty much same old, same old. The weight is just hanging on there, now there is something odd about this as my clothes are much looser, so where the devil is the weight that shows up on my scales all the time.

My scales and I are having this tussle at the moment and if it doesn't show my pounds moving, I'm afraid I'll just have to turf the offending item and try a newer model. Pity I can't do that with various parts of my body.

I have been very domestic this week, bottling, jam making etc due to a bumper crop in the garden. I know this doesn't sound exciting, but it relaxes me and is ultimately satisfying to see all that you've done looking back at you in bottles etc.

The cold weather has set in here (not that I'm feeling much of it, very hot blooded I am), but at least I can look forward to more hearty food and not salad every day.

I hope everyone likes the funny this week, I must admit it makes me chuckle to see Darth Vader changing the globe in his light sabre. Doing his bit for global warming maybe?

I hope everyone has had good luck this week and I look forward to hearing from as many as possible.

I seem to be having the opposite problem. My pounds keep dropping but when I measure my waist and hips there is no loss there. It is truly bizarre.

It is great to hear that you had such a good year with your garden. It is just starting to warm up here in Minnesota so I'm trying to figure out what to plant this year.

Great pic of Vader. LOL!

I hate when the scale breaks. Of course I want to blame it all the time, hee! But yeah, you should totally get a new one soon. Those stupid numbers mean a lot to us. :( *hugs* And yay Darthy for being conscious!

March Madness

Friday, March 28, 2008

Hi to all my friends.

Nothing on the weight loss this week, is 12 lbs off too early to hit a plateau?

The weather has changed here from Summer (hot, hot, hot) to Winter, Autumn (Fall) got lost somewhere.

Anyway, now salads have bit the dust, and casseroles, slow cooker recipes and soup now look to be on the menu. This could be a blessing in disguise as there seems to be less calories in casseroles and soup than in Summer food. Go figure!

We have been having a run of good luck here, no major medical emergencies and the animals are doing well, hope this keeps up.

I'm hoping everyone is losing weight and is keeping happy, see you all next week.

    Hey FlowerdaleJewel!
I agree with Bamathin. Your body gets used to the same food and adjusts and you can stop losing for a little while. It won't last. Changing food will help and getting plenty of water and more excercise will help too. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Hope everything keeps going good for you for a while with all the family health problems. You can use a break to take time to think about your self for a little bit. Don't forget to stop and smell the roses, no matter how many thorns get in the way!!

I had hit a plateau at 14 lbs. I started exercising more and broke the plateau. Hope your luck continues with no medical emergencies and healthy animals.

Nah, I don't think so. Maybe the change of food will help get you going again. My body gets way too used to food quickly. I always have to change up to keep going. Of course that means I have to exercise more which thinking about it now sucks but it actually is fun in the moment. I'm just silly.

What's to say?

Friday, March 21, 2008

Not much to say this week, I've been all over the place, hospitals, shopping and getting ready for Easter. I'm too tired at the moment to make glib comments about weight loss. So enjoy the Easter funny and I'll see you all next week.

Happy Easter everyone.

Things are looking good

Thursday, March 13, 2008

Well I am feeling pretty good at the moment, 12.8 lbs lost since the start of January, not a huge amount but noteworthy (for me) all the same.
While I can't see a huge change in the mirror, clothes that were very snug are considerably looser now.

We are going through a heat wave here at the moment, today is 40 deg C (104 deg F), yesterday was 38 and the rest of this week is going to be above 35 deg, it's a matter of getting everything done as early as possible as the gets pretty unbearable after 12.00.

This is the weather we were supposed to have in February but somehow it all got skewed up and we had a cold snap instead.
I have to make sure the animals are comfortable and cool in this heat, if I could bring them in under the AC I would!!!

I had to get rid of my "Save the Whale" profile picture as someone must have complained about it, it made me laugh every time I saw it and many of my friends here said it was hilarious. Goes to show some peoples' sense of humour is not as hearty as mine!! Let's hope that nobody finds my cartoons offensive.

I hope everyone out there is doing well with their weight loss and hope to talk to you all soon.

    12.8 is awesome! I think it's a great loss! :)

Someone complained about your save the whales??? Like they sent a complaint or something? I thought it was funny! People are silly. Sorry about that.

Our weather has been insane, too, so I completely relate. My sinuses are going insane.

Big Deal!

Thursday, March 06, 2008

Well nothing of worth on the weight loss this week, only about 50grams, but I have lost 2 cm off my hips. I'm sure my body is still deciding whether to let go of the weight or not.

I read somewhere that 1200 to 1400 calories is considered a weight loss amount, so at the moment I have no intention of starving myself, I can't see any benefit in cutting back drastically on food to lose weight only to put it back on when you eat normally.

Anyway, things have been pretty good around the farm this week, the weather can't make up it's mind, one day air-conditioner, next day heater.

I hope all the other Sparkers (especially my friends) have had a good week. I hope you enjoy the funny this week.
