OK I'm going to keep a journal on my 8 weeks training to running a 5 K. There are days I can hardly walk and here I signed up for a 5k! LOL What the heck was I thinking?
First day (Mon, Jan 30, 2012) I was up at 3:30am. Washed up, made my bed, got my lunch and things ready for work, made coffee, worked on the pc and checked e-mail until 5:45 am. Yes it takes me a few hours to wake up and be able to function. Got dressed and was out the door at 6 am. It was still pitch dark out (sunrise is at 7:05 am this morning ..wth?) First day ...stretch for 5 min, then run for 1 min and walk for 2 mins...repeat this 10 times total, then walk and cool down for 5 mins. A 40 min work out. I had on my florescent shirt and was glowing. I tried to stay on the sidewalk so not to get run over and was praying no snakes were out. Only animal I saw was a rabbit that ran out infront of me and I made the neighborhood dogs all bark which I'm sure the neighbors loved at 6 am. Got home, panting out of breath, needed a drink of water and wanted to fall out on the bed. Lol Got washed, changed clothes, had breakfast, and left for work. Well I made it through my first day.
