From days 11 thru 26 I've done my walking 2 days only....which means 7 days I did not do my walking. :( There were various excuses and maybe 2 real reasons I didn't walk.

I just read a super blog that said you need to make exercise a second job. I know I go to work well or sick and never miss a day. Why? Because I need the pay. So starting today exercise will be my part-time job. I will work out 5 days a week, well or sick and never miss a day. Why? Because I want to live. My paycheck will be my health!

Days 7, 8, 9 and 10 (Feb 7, 8, 9 and 10) After my walk/run on Monday morning my legs hurt so bad. It was so hard to even make it back home at the end of my walk/run. I have very bad arthritis in my knees and had knee surgery in Oct of 2011. I decided to stay home from work on Monday. Monday was very bad on my knees and I was in bed the whole day. I was not able to work out the rest of the week. I'm hoping to have a better week next week. One step at a time, one day at a time, but I will conquer good health. :)

  


Day 5 & Day 6 of my Walk to Health

All weekend long I got emails saying whereís my daily blog from you? I only blog 5 days a week. Weekends I do not blog, exercise or work out. On weekends I do my chores, shopping, go to church and visit church members who can no longer get out. If I have the time I do try and go for a walk.

Day 5 (Friday Feb 3, 2012) I did not do my walk/run that I was supposed to do. My body was hurting and I know when you over push yourself it may cause injury. So I skipped the day. Saturday I attended an all day church conference. I went up many stairs and walked the campus going to classes, etc. So I did get some good walking in to make up for no exercise yesterday.

Day 6 (Monday Feb 5, 2012) Iím up and doing my e-mail. Itís 4:27 am. When Iíve finished I will be out the door for my walk/run. I will be glowing once again in my florescent shirt. I bought a stop watch so I can better stick to the time of walking for 4 mins and then running for one. I do this for 2 miles. Next week I will increase my walk/run.

Day 4 of Walk to Health

Day 4 (Feb 2, 2012) I went to bed early and had a good nite's sleep. I was up at 3:30am, did laundry, email, packed lunch, had breakfast and at 6 am started my workout before work. I did my walking tape. I did 2 miles, but felt tired doing the tape. I don't know why I felt tired after that great nite's sleep. I have been doing my workout before breakfast. This morning I had oatmeal, a banana and a cup of coffee before workout. I think I will go back to eating breakfast after workout. Didn't feel tired when I did that the first 3 days. Have a great day....off to work!

  


Day 3 of Walk to Health

Day 3 (Feb 1, 2012) By the time I got home last night from work my ankle was fine (Thank God!). I joined the ďDo 5k in 5 weeks ChallengeĒ on SparkPeople.com. I figured if I did this workout then Iíd have the last 3 weeks to work on getting my run faster before the actual race. So this morning I did my 30 min run/walk before work. Iím hoping to do some strength training this evening for biceps and triceps with the dumbbells. Iím still excited, sticking to the workout plan and my body is aching some.
