I had a Dream.

Thursday, July 22, 2010

And it scared the heck out of me. I thought I had woken up and had smoked a half a pack of those darn cigs. I have been clean for 7 weeks now and was so happy to wake up and realize I hadn't blown it. Today I did a little happy squirm at my desk when I checked my bp 136/75 and pulse 82. OKay this may still seem a bit up for some but this last weekend I had a wonderful stay at the hospital with blood pressures climbing over 200/100 and trust me this is better.
Well the plan for today is shopping , chopping and cleaning to get ready for the relay for life in my area. I made a meatless taco salad a couple of years ago as donation to the food efforts and have been asked back every year. See even if you can't cook you can make this healthy.
OKay onward to the planning and Have a great day all. I am taking baby steps again and proud of it.

Starting over again, and again, and again

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

Really, is this any surprise. I think I can do it on my own and I prove my self wrong. Well on a good note I finally did quit the smoking habit. Yeah Me! , Now for the reality check, I gained back 31 pounds of the weight lost so I am not exactly starting at ground zero but sure feels like that after the weekend. I spent a couple of days in the hospital with chest pain and high BP. Yep, everything is fine except new meds, lots of followups and oh yes really looking forward to my Doc seeing the weight come back on :)
So back to watching the food intake, water and since I am participating in the cancer walk this weekend I am not setting any fitness goals until next week. Not looking for excuses just results so off I go to find another water bottle and get my head in the game here.

emoticon on starting over !! Alot of people give up and never try but it takes more Courage to start over and try again . I am at the same point starting over again after losing weight and regaining most of it due to stress and other things . I am determined to do it this time and also comforted to see someone else who understands the struggle and is also beginning again . Hang in there !! emoticon

you can do it -- you beat the smoking !!!! yeah!!!!

Just don't quit and you will not have failed.

I've stumbled and tripped along my way -- but I haven't quit either

Together (100+FSC) we can do what we could never do alone.

Congrats on finding your way back! I would also chalk some of those pounds up to quitting smoking, which is a HUGE accomplishment!
Best of luck to you!!

Starting over is better than stopping for good by dieing. Staying on program is the goal of course. Congrats on stopping the smoking. Now that you are re-starting your eating/exercise program you may be tempted to smoke again. DON'T!

Take a look at the reasons behind not staying on program. Write instead of bite. Then realize you have the strength within you to face life and stay strong on your commitment to yourself. emoticon

    I relate
Both on the gaining back the weight and on the getting frustrated with the vicious cycle... emoticon

What can you do...

Try to stay focused. That's what I say to myself.
I hope we can both manage to just stay focused emoticon emoticon

we really really have to stay focused...
Good luck

Time for that kick in the hind end.

So I haven't been to the gym in about 6 weeks and although the food hasn't been bad I know I haven't been following my plan. I make no excuses but I am making plans for the next week. I have planned to go to the gym 3x this week. I plan to drink my water. I plan to get those veggies out of the fridge and into my body. Sounds easy huh? well I am still hovering at one pound above the 40 pound weight loss mark. So all I have been doing since I pulled that muscle is maintaining and learning how not to eat again.

I have no excuses this week. My back is healed and time is on my side. I made my first goals which was turn the labs around and get out of danger zones for certain health problems. I accomplished that. Now I really want a new wardrobe and I will have one by spring.

So new goals for the next three months because I can't look any further than that into the future.
I want to drop 26 more pounds by spring. That would be March 21st

Stay Warm and Stay Strong
I want to be able to run for 2 minutes without passing out. ( or dying :) )
I really really want to shop in the normal clothes section .

SparkPeople is saving my life , one day at a time.

OKay so now that I have my undivided attention. JK, I finally got through the first three months of dieting and exercise trying to change my labs which I had done 3 months ago. I am happy to report I am no longer considered prediabetic, My cholestral is normal - this dropped 50 points, My thyroid is normal, and my blood pressure is normal. WHOOO HOOOOO

ON a side note I haven't worked out in 3 weeks due to a lumbar muscle strain which is now really beginning to tick me off but I am still at work and plugging away at trying to stay in my calorie range. I kind of went off the deep end a bit this week celebrating my labs with food. Seriously isn;t that what got me in trouble in the first place?

So this week I may have to sign up for another gym and try out swimming until my back feels better for the first gym I am paying for. ugghhhhh See a problem here?

All in all It has been a wonderful three months and soon I willl know what my Vit D levels are also as I forgot to get that restested then.

Got alot of holiday shopping done and I am now banned from my DH bathrrom, Me thinks my gifts are in there. Tempting but no I can't look I like suprises.

Well happy holidays all and THANK YOU SP
Stay Strong

Daily ramblings

Monday, December 07, 2009

So this week has been great. I backed off on the exercise a bit and my back is feeling much better. Thank you to all those who gave such kind words. I have been a little lax in the food diary portion but stilll I kept in mind what I should be eating vs. what I shouldn't and somehow still lost another 3 pounds. I am loving that part very much.

Okay for non scale victories my skinny jeans are getting baggier and I have been able to clear out the closet a bit more for charity. I even went and treated myself to new bedding this week. 400ct egyptian cotton. SO Much better than treating to a couple of pizzas. So I am thinning that part of the closet also as I bought a couple of new sets when they were on sale at Kohls this week. My Dh and I kept going over color choices which was difficult as our styles are so very different and came up with some that will work for both of us. I love country colors and he likes bold contemporary designs. It was a long shopping trip :)

Ohh another NSV I can now wear comfortably both of my wedding rings again. How cool is that. This is actually something I could never do for long as my fingers would swell after a couple of hours and I would have to take the pronged setting off so I am really thrilled with this.

Well that is it, My ramblings for today. Nothing earth shattering and nothing that will make man kind a better place but it does make my home a better place so I guess that is something. Have a great week all and leave the stress for those elves making all the xmas gifts.
Stay Strong.

I got my rings resized the winter before I got serious about getting healthy. Now they twist and turn all the time. I have to take them off to exercise and to direct the choir.

I am SO looking forward to wearing my wedding rings again!! I have had them re-sized twice and I just refuse to do it again.
The good thing is that the cheap rings I bought to replace them are now too big and I had to move them to my middle finger when I wear them.

Congratulations on losing 3 more pounds and cleaning your closet out. emoticon emoticon
