MY SMART GOALS FOR 2014

Friday, January 17, 2014

Being Part of the Sunset Stingrays Team is helping me with keeping motivated and wanting to be the "Biggest Loser" for 2014!!!

Here are my 2014 S.M.A.R.T. GOALS:

S - STAY in my calorie range which is: 1200-1550
M - MAKE every effort to exercise at least 40 min daily
A - ALLOW myself to have one day of relaxing -usually Sunday's
R - REMEMBER to stay "Positive" and have NO "Negative" thoughts
T - TAKE time to plan all meals.

I will try my hardest for a loss of 1.5 lbs per week. We have 12 weeks to STRIVE for our emoticon !!!!!!!!

The REASONS for wanting to do this:

1. HEALTH -which includes lowering my cholesterol & blood pressure.
2. FEELING of comfort in clothing, which I have smaller size to fit back into.
3. WANTING to keep up with my hubby on weekends with our 3 HR of walking
4. GRANDSON - watching him grow older and being there for him
5. CHILDREN - Son and Daughter who mean the world to me.

It's usually hard for me to say the word "NO"....but I'm learning...and every time I'm offered some type of unhealthy snack food this is going to be my answer.

What Triggers My Day to Go off The Plan?

Tuesday, August 13, 2013

Yesterday would be a perfect example of why I go off my plan of eating healthy. When I got my Jury Duty notice.....I knew I would be there most of the day, just sitting and not able to exercise much. My noon we had our lunch break....I decided to get a turkey & cheese wrap.....it was really filled & I have no idea how much meat/cheese was added with a little mustard. By time it was over and headed home, my hubby decides to stop off at Wendy's for dinner.....what do I choose....the new Single Pretzel bacon & cheese hamburger & large fries........NOT a good choice at all!!!!

This morning the scale showed my terrible fate of not eating healthy & not exercising like I should .......... 1 whole pound!!!

I know I will fight harder today.....Already did my 150 sit ups, 100 leg lifts, stretches....and washing clothes (which is more exercise to my mind).

Going grocery shopping & getting back to more salads....picking up more fruits!!
emoticon AND NEVER GIVE UP!!!! (My Motto!) emoticon

Every day is a new day, that's why they call it the "present" Your entire one pound gain may not be all that real. You ate a lot of salt, even if you didn't realize it. Stay on track and by the end of the week that pound may be gone! Good luck!

Your weight gain was probably from water retention. I can gain three or more pounds in a day and by next day it is gone. If it sticks around for a while I know it wasn't the water,

Report Inappropriate Comment
JAXMOMMY 8/14/2013 4:31PM

I doubt that pound came from that 1 day of eating! I'd almost bet it was water weight from the sodium content! Bet it is gone already! Life happens! But, that wrap is tempting me! HeeHee! Take care and no frets! That pound will be gone before you know if if it isn't already!

Good blog Janice. I bet there are many of us who haven't done that.
Last week I went for Crab Cake and had to have the french fries. Early in the week was good as I decided it really wasn't worth it. Lost a lb on scale yesterday. Surprise. So like me I am betting that little binge jolted your metabolism and you enjoyed and are smart enough to get back on track. Bet your weigh in (whenever) you will see a loss. Your attitude rocks and that's how I know.

I understand that happening. My choice at Wendy's used to be the taco salad without the chips but they've changed it so sometimes I get a side salad with a small chili but usually I get the jr cheese deluxe and just eat a4 or 5 of someone else's fries. You'll get yourself right back on track.

I had a relatively indulgent weekend, and the scale shifted up 5 pounds in two days. Don't stress yourself out and remember that our weight fluctuates a lot day to day. Focus on a longer time span such as a week or a month. If you live a balanced life most of the time, days like yesterday can be absorbed. You are doing great!

It's a LIFELONG journey, this thing we do on SPARK. There will be Wendy's days...lolol...otherwise, what's the point of being here??? :-). I bet that burger was gooooooood... ;-)~~~

The point is to enjoy our favorite things in MODERATION, and make the MAJORITY of our choices healthfully, mindfully and well.

YOU are a shining example of how and why this program works, Janice! I am inspired by you DAILY!!! :-)
