I'm afraid I don't have numbers to show much progress in all the years I've been using
SparkPeople. I have to think that it's been worth it anyhow for keeping additional weight from coming on and staying on. Still a struggle, but I'm plugging away at it.

I have as a long term goal being able to do a handstand. Decided just thinking about it wasn't going to make it happen. I used to do headstands and have been trying once a day (for a few days) to do that. In a corner so I can kick up to the wall, but hey, first things first. Also I've been practicing plank on my forearms and that is good for upper body strength. Need to commit to more of both of those things as well as to research how I could do a handstand without stressing my thumb joints. Still a puzzlement but somehow it has to be possible.

    Wow handstands, that is awesome!!! There is no way I could ever do that. I can do planks though and actually like doing some, but the side ones are the hardest to balance.
As long as you keep trying I know you will find the way!

I sure work harder with my trainer. Who can afford that all the time? How do I trick myself into behaving as though he's watching?

    You have to keep looking at what you want to change about your body to make you healthier and extend your life. Get up & do 5mins, 5 will become 10 & 10 will become 20. So on & so on...take a wake. Put in a workout dvd if you need to just to help you start & then go on your own. Music is a BIG helper... you can do it but only you....be good to you...

making a few poor choices for food determine how well I eat the rest of the day . . . have to convince myself that every bite counts!
