Think twice about that last Twinkie...

Friday, November 16, 2012

In case anyone was thinking about making a run to the store to snag that final box of Hostess... take a peek at this:

This is a Hostess cupcake that I socked away in August of 1999, for sentimental reasons (long and weird story). A real testament to the power of preservatives, it is almost entirely intact, no mold whatsoever, and I bet the filling inside is just as creamy as the day it rolled off of the production line.

It is really scary what we put in our bodies, isn't it? I was considering getting a box, maybe some Ding Dongs or something, 'hey I have been eating like a champ, I deserve a treat' kind of thinking...but then I remembered that I had this and changed my mind. I am done eating this sort of garbage!

I was never a Twinkie fan, but I did like the cupcakes and ho-hos. Can't say I'm running out to buy them now...

Yeah, only thing that surprises me is that you kept it around, I would have eaten it 13 years ago. LOL
I wouldn't get near one today, but learned a lot this year.

You are doing great!

Hugs,
Dayle

Random happy thought

Thursday, November 15, 2012

I just realized that my current weight is 5 pounds less than the weight that I lied about on my drivers license! When I last renewed my license a year and a half ago, I generously subtracted 20 pounds off of my real weight, now I am 5 pounds under that, YEEHAW emoticon

I have lost 25 pounds now, but on a day to day basis, I don't really notice that I have lost even one pound. Yes, I feel much healthier, my clothes are way baggier and my husband is telling me everyday how proud he is of me, but I don't know, the loss just hasn't really registered with me. Until last night. I felt like relaxing in a hot bubble bath last night, I very rarely take a bath, and have not done so at least since I started this journey three months ago. I got in the tub and was FLOORED at how much better I fit and how much more room there was in there. There was tons of room on the side, I was SHOCKED! It was a real a-ha moment, and I finally understand that yep! I am indeed losing weight.

One of the best feelings I've ever had is when I went to renew my DL and had to tell them to change my weight to a lower number :) Now you can look forward to that :D
