Reset - New Start

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

Reset all my SP trackers etc. today. Have been feeling very depressed since I was diagnosed with the arthritis/bursitis in my knees and my son calling off his wedding. Have worked through it and feeling much more confident about the future and upcoming changes. I guess sometimes we all need to reset a little.
Have a good friend who has lost over 70 pounds this year and she has done it through some serious emotional and financial cr*p. She just keeps caring for herself through it - NOT something I have ever been good at. I am joining her gym at lunch today and have made an agreement to meet her before work at 6am during the week to work out. The gym is literally 2 blocks from my work. No excuses.
Had a good breakfast - logged it - now to pack my lunch and get ready for work!

Have a great SP day!

10K Training

Sunday, June 03, 2012

104 Days to the Air Force Marathon 10K - can't wait.
Training starts tomorrow - doing a modification of Hal's program. I can already do more than the first few weeks call for but since I have the time a good base can't hurt.

Have decided to give up soda - all kinds even the diet. I just don't feel right when I drink it and it it such a waste of calories. So am kicking that from the fridge and adding in sun tea for the summer. Tastes better anyway!

Church this morning then Ikea, Catherine's and JCPenney. Home to put together new end tables and then to finally start reading Shades of Grey. My sister is already on book 3 and I am annoying her that I haven't started yet....LOL! Hurry up and read the girlie porn! Too funny!

Hope everyone has a great day doing whatever you need!

Remember if we don't care for ourselves who is going to?

This is my newest motivation pic:

You sound good; very positive. I rarely drink soda of any type except when out at a restaurant. A couple days ago, my sister even commented on how much water I drink. We'd spent the week together vacationing and she was buying tea, juices and other drinks while I just kept filling my water bottle. I must be so out of touch with the world. I just learned Shades of Grey even exists last week. Enjoy your day!

Heartbroken & TOTALLY off track!

Sunday, April 22, 2012

Monday night my son and his wonderful fiance called off the wedding and separated. It wasn't a decision they took lightly and the parents had seen it coming (but hoped otherwise) for about a month. It wasn't that they don't love each other it was just that their goals and dreams didn't match anymore. They have been together 3.5 years and engaged for 2.5 and now life is just different for each of them.

I am just heartbroken - I truly thought of her as my daughter - it feels like part of me has been ripped off. I know part of it is that she is the same age as my daughter Ashley would have been had she not died as a baby. The two were always sort of mixed up in my head. I am just so sad for them and all of us.

So I have been WAY off track all week - ate CRAP - don't believe a vegetable has passed my lips unless it was coated in cheese since Sunday night.

I have cried, taken long baths, pouted, played on Pinterest until I believe I have seen every pic on the internet and just had a big ole pitty party for the last week.

Today I am getting back in the saddle - figuratively of course - horses still scare the cr*p out of me. But I'll walk again today, and eat healthier and log my food - and probably cry a little because I get to see her for the first time since the breakup.

Blah! emoticon

So sorry to hear that! I guess it's better than going through with the marriage if it isn't the right thing, but still must be so difficult for everyone. Don't let it get you too far off track.

First Month Down!

Friday, April 13, 2012

This is an email I sent to my family updating them on my progress:

So official weigh in after one month is 19 pounds. Really wanted that 20 but I was told that working out would slow me down and it has. That is fine - it will pick up again once my body realizes it is ok.

I started with 2 weeks on Medifast and then switched to following a 1200-1500 calorie diet, under 150 grams of carbs, 80 ounces of water, 3 days of cardio & 3 days of cross training per week. I have had one HF problem - retaining water (7 pounds overnight) that took 2 days to go away.

My knee is feeling pretty good (still sore but NOTHING like before) I am up to a 15 min mile and can do 1.5 miles while talking non-stop with Charlie. I completed the first week of my 5 K training plan (4 weeks to go) and can do an hour of dance and 10 mins on the recumbent bike without dying.

For month 2 - I am adding in a 100 pushup program and a 200 sit up program. Those will be done 3 days a week have not decided if they will be on my 5K days or my XT days but I'll decide over the weekend.

My goals for the 2nd month 4/13 - 5/13:

Complete 5 K training and walk a 5K in 45 minutes.
Continue 3 days of XT per week
Lose 10 pounds
Maintain the same eating plan (find more veggies I like)
Research a 10K program for the AF Marathon 10K at Wright Patterson AFB in September (registered & paid for race, breakfast & special dinner at the Air Force Museum, hotel reservations made, vacation time reserved)
Get up to 20 minutes on the recumbent bike

I am happy with the weight loss but happier with how good I feel. Looking forward to the next month!

Almost a Month!

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

March 13th I took back my life! I can't believe how amazing I feel and what a difference a month makes. I can now walk a mile while having a fun conversation with my husband - I have lost 19 pounds (so trying for 1 more by the 13th), my clothes are looser, I am more limber, my knee feels so much better (yeah for recumbent bikes for treating arthritis & bursitis in my knee), I can't wait to get home to exercise, I am bummed by rest days, I replenished my IPod so I can dance to it and about 100 other things!

What a wonderful feeling - can't wait to see what the next month holds!
