I Missed Spark People

Thursday, November 12, 2009

I was in a training class all day today at work and did not have access to a computer. Man did I miss SP. I couldn't log in my food, check up on friends during breaks and simply cruise the website during my lunchbreak as I always do. It was lonely without you guys today. You were truly missed.

Did my workout at 5:45 am this morning. Training was a half hour later than my usual start time so I was able to get some xtra z's. Made an oopsie and did Burn It Up instead of Burn Intervals and did not realize it until after I did it as well as the scheduled Ab Burner. OH well, at least I did something right?

In our training manuals today I came across a page called Reinventing Organizations. It was written by D. Osbourne and T. Gaebler and it spoke so close to home my battlle with getting fit and healthy that I thought I would share it with you.

1. What gets measured gets done.
2. If you do not measure results, you cannnot tell success from failure.
3. If you cannot see success, you cannot reward it.
4. If you cannot reward success, you are probably rewarding failure.
5. If you cannot see success, you cannot learn from it.
6. If you cannot recognize failure, you cannot correct it.

Enjoy your evening everyone. Stay Sparkalicious! emoticon

CLX Day 17 Premature Results

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Happy Veteran's Day to all the veterans who have given their all to protect and serve our US military. You are the best and we all salute you! That includes my husband who is a former marine.

I actually had the day off from work but still got up at 6am to workout. I am almost terrified to sleep in just one day in fear that I might revert to old habits. I am much better about working out than nutrition so it is very important for me to stay on top of my workouts because it helps to keep me in line when it comes to food.

I started CLX on 10/26/09 so I am only in by 17 days but..... I couldn't help but grab the measuring tape to see if I have made any strides by "going extreme". Here are my results 17 days in

Bust: Before 40" After 38.5" 1.5" lost
Waist: Before 36" After 34" 2" lost
Hips: Before and After 49" No lost (no suprise here, I am a bootylicious girl and always will be LOL)
Adductors: Before 47" After 46" 1" lost
Arms Before and After 12" No lost
Thighs: Before 25" After 24" 1" lost
Weight: Before 193.8 After 192 1.8 pounds lost

I didn't measure my body fat percentage today because I don't want to be disappointed and I want to see a really big drop hopefully at the end of the first 30 days. Otherwise I am really pleased with my results. I am only half way into Week 3 and I have lost 1.8 pounds and more importantly a total of 5.5 inches emoticon. I don't know about you but I'll take it. With 73 days to go, lot's of determination and dedication to push it and the motivation of possibly needed to go shopping for some better fitting clothes I am really psyched about what the future holds for me and ChaLean Extreme. It's sooo worth all the cursing I do at the tv screen five days a week!

HORRIBLE!

Monday, November 09, 2009

That's how I feel today. My son KT, was the little Outbreak movie monkey and gave me his germs. I felt lousy all day yesterday performing at about 60 percent. I was hoping I would feel better today but I don't. I work up this morning and did Burn C1. Made it all the way through suprisingly at full strength. Well I am at work and feel horrible. I have little energy. My throat hurts. My body aches. That's about it so I don't think it will effect anyone. I am in my little world in the back of the office so even if I am contagious, everyone is safe. Unfortunately I have to be here because I missed Friday b/c of KT's illness and because I am new at this crappy job which has no sick time at my level. So I have to come and I think this is ridiculous. Sure, force sick people to come in, infect everyone so you are understaffed and everyone loses out! Done venting.

On a good note, I did lose a pound. I have officially loss ten pounds! Changing my SP banner to reflect that. About five more and I may have to buy a couple pairs of pants for work! I love any reason to shop. Still wouldn't go overboard though. I would buy a 16 and that's not something I am tooo happy with but hey, it's a start. I'll get happy when I see 14 (its been two years) and I can shop in a "regular" store. I've never had to shop in a plus size store till right before my pregnancy and it's not a place I want to be. Pay more for something I despise wearing in the first place. Go figure.

Have a Sparkalicious Day!

Congrats on your weight loss....10lbs is a great accomplishment
Keep up the great work!! I am sorry you are not feeling well, you probably caught what your son had on Friday. Did he have a virus? I am also surprised that more employers are not being more careful with the H1N1 flu scare and allowing employees to stay home. The flu is contagious even 24 hrs before you show signs of sickness. Be careful and take care of yourself!

Aww sorry ur sick, but good job on kicking butt in ur workout! Employers should realize how important sick days are, you shouldn't have to drag yourself there. As far as shopping goes, I too love shopping but since I started having trouble fitting in my clothes and realize that I went from a 10/12 to tight 16 my enthusaium has diminished but congrats on losing 10pds girl! Keep up the good work, hopefully that's me in a couple weeks.

I feel for you, I'm at work and sick too. I could take a day off but I usually like to wait until I'm on my death bed before I do that, I know not much logic in that but its what I do. My BF wasn't too happy I was going to work today, but I gotta do what I gotta do. Hope you feel better soon!!

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well! I thought with this H1N1 scare that employers were being a little more lax with the illness and time off, but I guess in some instances they are not! Hope that you feel better soon! emoticon

No creative titles today. What a day! I got up at 4:50am to squeeze in my workout. My little 19mth old was sent home from daycare yesterday b/c he had a fever so he had a 7:15am doctor's appointment that I scheduled yesterday. He woke up without a fever thank goodness. He is really congested and the doctor gave up a machine to give him breathing treatments three times a day for the next three days. AFter that we can do two a day. Soooo that meant I had to stay home. I was really drained from my workouts, the time change and all the little minor obstacles I had this week so when KT went down for a nap, so did I. Planned to do a second workout but I guess I needed the sleep b/c I slept for three and a half hours as did KT. Well he slept more but I had to run to the pharmacy to pick up the Albuterol for the machine ao my sister in law watched him till I got back.

So I had a pretty uneventful day. Ate healthy although I am freakin' starving. This CLX is making me hungrier. I still make good choices though. She mentions on a dvd that you maybe hungrier on the ST days b/c your metabolism gets really revved up. I am sure she is right so I am just going to take it in stride.

Oh well, boring post but it is what it is. Till next time. Have a Sparkalicious Day!
