Thanksgiving 2013

Saturday, November 30, 2013

Had a blast @ Jazzercise on Thanksgiving morning - that's me on the far left of the bottom row. Taking a group photo was my idea, and I was feeling pretty in shape when we took it, but I didn't realize how big I really was till I saw it and I've been dwelling on that ever since. Here's to letting that go and making a difference in my mind & body as a gift to myself.

You look great, and how much FUN is Jazzercise on Thanksgiving morning? We had one, too - about 45 people, 7 instructors, and so much energy. A great way to feel a little bit less guilty about that diet going to emoticon later that day.

Good for you!!!

Good for you. Thanksgiving Jazzercise is a staple for me, but our class size looks to be about a third of what you had.

Remember, it's about how far YOU've come, not where you are in relation to anyone else.

Starting over, once again

Saturday, June 16, 2012

Now that I've officially regained all my weight, I'm once again starting over. It won't be as easy because I'm 8 years older and last time I'd just had a baby so my metabolism was at an all-time high. But I can and will do it, slowly but surely. First step, accept my body as it is today:

Now to work on moving it more, and eating less...simple, huh ;)

You already have some of the knowledge of what is needed and the knowledge that you CAN do it, so you do have a step up on those who haven't begun.

(Reminds me of the saying that no matter how slow we're running, we're still lapping those on the couch. You're going to move, so you're ahead of all the non-starters already!)

emoticon If we all learned our lessons the first time (or second or third) many of us would not even be on SP, but we are all human so we do understand. I love that you are going to accept your body today...make peace and embrace even helps you want to do the best things for it...exercise more, make healthier eating choices.

So congrats to you for getting back up.

Will I brush my teeth today?

Saturday, April 21, 2012

Will I brush my teeth today? I know I should, but I brushed them just yesterday, and you don't have to do it daily, do you? I mean I can't even see a difference in the mirror so why bother? Plus if I skip it this morning, I can sleep a little longer and I am still sleepy. Sure I have a busy day ahead but surely I can squeeze in teeth brushing later, right? And if I don't, there's always tomorrow.

Have you ever had these thoughts about not brushing your teeth every day? Of course not -- so why do we have them about exercising and eating right?!

Great title! Great analogy! When I saw the title, I thought I knew where you were going and there you went ... right to the heart (if you don't mind another body part) of the exercising excuses. Well done.

Unfortunately, I've had the same thoughts about brushing my teeth. I don't give in to them and I feel so much better when I've finished. It's the same with exercising. I guess It's time to take it to the next level.

My sisters family takes Sunday OFF- from all such things- being a single mom (and only involved parent), she decided she wanted 1 day a week where there was one less thing to fight her kids over- that was Sundays. Her boys are full grown now- their teeth are no worse for the missed sundays.

Have a Good Weekend!

taken from the Info on Tabata page linked on my blog...

Tabata is a type of high intensity interval training. Tabata intervals follow this structure:
Push hard for 20 seconds
Rest for 10 seconds.
Repeat this eight times.

The secret to making this effective is in your sprint interval. You have to go all out, so do as many reps as you can in the 20 seconds, put it down for 10, then pick it up again and go hell for leather for another 20 seconds.
