Where I Walk...

Friday, September 21, 2012

One foot in front of the other :)

Recently on Spark People I saw on a blog showing where you walk. I thought this was a great idea, so here is mine:

I walk along this road to the end and home again which is 3kms (1.86mile). Other days I walk right around the block and that it 4kms (2.48miles). When I am really energetic and have the time, my hubby makes me walk 6kms (3.72miles). That is a challenge when I am not fully fit!

So here we are going up the road

And coming back

If you are a walker or runner, maybe you would like to share where you walk or run. emoticon

Love this. The 1st pic is great for perspective! The dirt road must make for interesting walking conditions sometimes. Thank you for this.

Definitely a lifestyle change for life...

Friday, September 21, 2012

I need to get this into my head and stop thinking that once I have lost weight, I can start eating what I like and stop exercising. If I dont this will just keep going on for the rest of my life! Bad habits need to be gone for good and new ones formed :)

Oops overdone it!

Thursday, September 20, 2012

This is me yesterday after exercising. My face was nice and red and my hair was drenched with sweat so I knew I had done enough. However this body told me this morning that it was more than enough *groan*

Yesterday I went for a 50minute walk/run followed by 20 x 2 steps, 3 minutes on the bike at 25kms an hour, 60 on the rowing machine, 20 situps, and 20 pushups.

I think the running did the damage, as I ran for about 1/4 of the distance I went. I know next time not to do so much running just yet emoticon I ate approx 1177 calories yesterday and drank 8 glasses of water.

Only light exercise for me today, a thirty five minute uncomfortable stiff walk!

I went out for lunch and I am not sure how many calories that cost me. How does one count calories when eating out? I ordered chicken julienne with vegetables in a half serve. Of course there was gravy and cheese sauce...When it came out I removed all but three small pieces of chicken. My husband had the same meal so he was able to eat the chicken on my behalf. So because my calorie count was mucked up today I will just start fresh again tomorrow and hope I havent done too much damage emoticon

I have found my mood is improving and I am a lot happier already. Winter is such a horrible season, my diet and good intentions just went out the door. It is only three months of the year, so surely I can get on top of this and find a solution. Hopefully by the time next winter gets here I will be in control of my habits well and truly!

Moderation is sometimes a hard lesson to learn! Our bodies/minds will usually let us know if we need to back off a bit!!

Keep on keeping on!

I agree with Wendy - your enthusiasm carried you away! Make it help you to establish those good habits instead! Good luck.

Weigh in Wednesday

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

Wednesday is the day I choose to weigh myself each week.

I weighed myself on Monday at 72.6kg (160lbs)

Today my weight is 71.7kg (158lbs)

A loss of 800gms (1.76lbs) so far so good emoticon

Curry egg sandwich for lunch 320 calories

Afternooon snack around 3pm Fruit and yogurt with one oatbrit. 195 Calories

Chicken wrap for tea/supper 319 calories
Fruit and yogurt for dessert 115 calories

Total calories consumed 1276 (I am new to working out calories so these amounts may be inaccurate, give or take a little either way)

I got a bit hungry later on in the night, but just went to bed emoticon

Exercise yesterday:

I managed 1 hour.

50minute walk with hubby, 20 x 2 steps, 2.5minutes on bike, 50 on the rowing machine, 20 situps, 15 pushups

740 calories burned!

I also vacuumed the whole house and burned 246 Calories. Plus other mundane housework stuff lol! Hey it all counts right?

I have been drinking 8 glasses of water, sometimes more a day... emoticon

This is my favourite quote and is so true

Off to do my walk now, see you tomorrow emoticon
