healthy weekend

This is the first time in awhile that I made it through the weekend and stayed in my calorie range. I do so good during the work week with my eating and going to the gym, but come the weekend I blow it. I have been losing and re-gaining the same 5 pounds forever! It's so frustrating!!! As long a I stick to my normal schedule everything goes as planned, but as soon as something changes I get off track. It feels great to continue into another week with my healthy habits instead of feeling like I am starting over again after the weekend.

    Good for you! It is rare that I can make it through the whole weekend making good decisions and staying i'n my calorie range. But when I do, it does feel pretty great! I look forward to the days when I don't have to track anymore. When that time comes, I plan on continuing to track just weekends, to keep me in check!

Vacation goals

I am officially in vacation mode!!! This time around I am going to set some goals for myself. I'm hoping by putting my goals down on paper and carrying them with me I will be more likely to stick with them instead of getting completely off track like I always do. So here is my goal list for the upcoming week.

1. Do at least 30min. of cardio every day. This should be an easy one because I know I will be swimming in the ocean every day and I am also taking my bike with me to ride on the trails by the house we are renting. Also my 2 and 4 year old niece and nephew will be there and I always get a good workout chasing them around.

2. Be mindful of what I put in my mouth. Every time I go on vacation I end up sick from stuffing myself with food. There is something about being on vacation that makes me think it's ok to eat whatever I want. I always end up with awful stomach cramps and nausea. Even on my honeymoon I ended up sick by the third day and could barely eat or drink for the rest of the trip. So this time I'm loading up on lots of yogurt, fruits, and veggies and I'm going to take my blender so I can make smoothies yum! There will also be lots of fresh seafood which I love.

3. Don't worry about how I look compared to everyone else. The house we are renting is on the beach so I will be spending most of my time in a bathing suit. Instead of feeling bad about myself and worrying about how I look I'm just going to go out and have a good time. I know my husband is happy with how I look and that's all that matters!

4. I'm not going to stress out about ANYTHING. I'm just going to kick back relax and enjoy my vacation 100% The week will go fast enough so I need to enjoy it while it lasts.

I'm hoping that I will have access to a computer while on vacation so I can check in. If not I will Give everyone an update when I get back.

  Have a great vaca! We went to an island resort a few years ago, and the fresh fruit and seafood was a lifesaver. The rum, of course, was another story! :)

Final week

O.k. so it's my final week to get beach ready, we are leaving Fri. evening. I had hoped to be further along with my weight loss, but I'm glad that I at least lost a few lbs. Also I may not have reached my weight loss goals, but I can tell a big difference in my cardiovascular health. I no longer feel like I'm going to die during my boot camp classes and I can work out longer and harder than ever before. So I guess when it comes down to it I'm happy with how far I have come. Now it's time to kick my workout into full gear!!!

When my 16yr. old step son got up to run with me this morning I was a little worried. I thought for sure that I would not be able to keep up with him and he would kick my butt. But by some miracle I was able to cover more distance than him during our 30min. run. In fact about half way through our run my son called me an endurance monster and said that i should be in a marathon. When we got back home my son kept saying how sore he felt from running but not me I felt great!!! I guess getting up in the morning and running is really starting to pay off!!! I am so proud of myself, I have tried running in the past but always gave it up quickly thinking it was something my body could not do. Now I know that I was wrong and am so glad that I gave it another try and actually kept up with it this time. I may not be a fast runner but I can tell a big difference in my endurance level since I started. emoticon

    That's awesome! I tried running on and off for a few years before I really started doing it consistently. I now love it and am able to sustain long distances. It used to be 10 or 20 minutes and I'd be pooped. Keep it up, you WILL see more and more positive changes!

Two weeks until it's beach time

Two weeks until it's beach time!!! I am really looking forward to spending a week with my family at the beach I just wish I could have reached my weight loss goal by now. For the next two weeks I'm going to really try and reach all my weekly goals and keep track of my calories. Hopefully while at the beach I will still be able to keep up with my goals but I always seem to get off track while on vacation.

    I'm with ya! I'm going to the beach as well in two weeks...and I will be on vacation through the rest of July!

I am struggling on whether or not to try to stick to my nutrition and fitness goals, or if I should just not worry about it. After all, these two weeks are the only time I will have with my BF until November...But the good news is, he and I both want to stick to being healthy, so I am sure we will be conscience of it!

I am sure you will have a wonderful time at the beach, and look great too!

    Pack some snacks now that you can take with you to the beach. Then you won't have to think what to snack on during the day and if you splurge at night it won't be a big deal. have fun! emoticon
