Back at square one

Not with my diet. That seems to be going ok so far. This month has been super busy with a lot of stops at fast food places, so I haven't lost any weight. I have maintained my weight loss and I am proud of that. Yea for salads!

Remember that new job I posted about? Well, it's over. I got two paychecks and then decided it wasn't for me.

Long story short, my boss treated her employees like her misbehaving children. Every time she walked by and heard a conversation, she would say, "SHHH! You're not supposed to be talking!" Ugh. Every idea I came up with for increasing productivity was shot down right away. When I mentioned the concept of using macros for some of the data entry, she looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language.

I asked for a meeting with her on Thursday and told her the job wasn't working out for me. I said I needed a job with more variety and challenge. (Honestly, if I would have known there would be this much data entry, I wouldn't have accepted the job.)

She and I went down and talked to the lady in charge of he temp pool. They said once I gave my end date, they could put me back into the temp pool and try for another position. I asked my boss what she thought and then I gave Friday as my end date. The sooner the better!

I have applied for a few jobs. I am registered with 6 local temp agencies. I signed up with a new one on my day off last week. They seem to think they can give me a temp-to-hire position. Time will tell.

Right now, I am happy to be back on SP logging food and posting on my blog again. Hopefully I can keep a positive attitude and be productive with my time rather than sit around feeling sorry for myself.

Good luck with the job hunt. I finally found something I enjoy which is really what matters the most. I hope that you also find something that has you waking up excited to get to work.

I know I will get a job soon. It has to be better than the one I just left. It gave me satisfaction to end the job myself instead of waiting around to be fired.

Hectic schedule!

Friday, February 08, 2013

I am on the tech crew for a show at our local community theatre. I have not had a single moment to myself lately. Work, theatre, homework, sleep. Repeat. What a hectic week! Now that our show is up and running, we will finally get some days off next week. I did my homework tonight so now I can watch some tv before bed. I don't have to be up until 10 tomorrow.

My weight has stayed the same. But, I have noticed that my clothes fit differently now. I put on a shirt today that used to be a bit small and now it is just right. All my pants are hanging loosely on me. I want some new ones, but I hesitate to buy any while my weight is still going down. I have been making do with belts to hold my jeans up.

I am not going to worry too much about the scale while I am working on this show. I am still watching what I eat very carefully. I have had to eat out a lot, but I always have salads with very little (if any) dressing. I also try to snack on fruit. I need to improve on my water intake. I tend to drink less water when I am really busy. I drink more coffee and diet pop to keep awake.

So, there you have it. I am not gone. Just really busy. I am still checking in to SP and weighing in every day, but I have not been posting my weight. I don't think the scale will go down until my schedule goes back to normal and I start getting a good night's sleep.

Off to enjoy some tv before bed! Looking forward to some extra sleep tonight.

I hope the show reflects all the work put into it. If you have been increasing activity due to the shows requirements it can increase muscle or cause you to retain fluids. I think you are on the right track watching what is happening to your clothes.

Smoothie success!

Monday, January 28, 2013

Let me know if you have problems viewing the link:

I used 8 ice cubes. The blender was a lot bigger than my drink, so I had to blend, scrape the sides, and then blend again. Clean up was very easy! I had read reviews online that said to stay away from the blades, so I was very careful.

Very filling! I can't wait to try more recipes!

EDIT: Adding more oatmeal to tomorrow's smoothie. And maybe some coffee ice cubes.

Will do! I like how you can search the recipe database by calories too. I need something a bit more calorie rich first thing in the morning.

New Toy!

Sunday, January 27, 2013

I finally broke down and bought a Ninja Pro blender.

Oh the possibilities! I have wanted one of these for years. I will use it primarily for breakfast smoothies, but it can do a lot more. I might have people over now and then for mixed drinks.

I think this will really kick my weight loss into gear. This is just what I need for those mornings I am in a hurry. I hate prepping food in the morning, so this will free up some time.

I just figured out the nutritional info of my first smoothie. I am going to split it so that I will have one in the morning and one later in the day. I hope it keeps me full till lunch.

I will post my experiments with my blender and let you know which ones I like best.

I bought it on the advice of a friend who really loves hers. I know there are more expensive ones out there, but this is the best I could afford on my budget.

I might even post a video of myself making a smoothie with it. Stay tuned!

Congrats on your purchase! Please post your experiments because I am thinking about purchasing a blender as well. I was looking at the ninja that you bought. I was also looking into the vitamix. I'd like to hear if you are enjoying the ninja.

Took a couple days off

Monday, January 21, 2013

I didn't track food the last couple days. I didn't eat anything too out of the ordinary. I didn't overeat. I just wanted to appreciate my holiday weekend and not worry about tracking.

It is business as usual tomorrow. I have my meals planned out. I made a new dish of whole wheat spaghetti and veggie sauce. I am looking forward to trying it. It smelled really good right out of the crock pot.

Back to work tomorrow. Kinda wish my weekend could be longer.
