Cute idea ~ after having been on my own road out of depression I have a jar with a little note pad by it and I jot the date and the activity and who I did it with that made me happy that day! If it's the theater - I'm putting in the theater ticket!

May have to get another jar for work out money! =)

That is a pretty good idea, it would be even better though if other people put money in every time you worked out! Maybe I should make one of these and take it with me to the gym, set it beside me when I'm working out, maybe give it a little shake when somebody walks by... :)

Time is just flying by, I hope all of my dear Sparked friends are doing well:)

Funny how sometimes the more successful you become at ANY goal, there will be those who will try to make you doubt yourself. Those blinders come in handy here.

I am curing my people pleasing disease, if you have to act all the time, what's the point?

Speaks for itself:)

And finally as I am mentally getting ready for a butt kicker in the gym:

I hope everyone has an AMAZING Sunday:) emoticon emoticon

I saw a good quote the other day by Robert Tew:

Don't let negative & toxic people rent space in your head. Raise the rent & kick them out!!! emoticon

I am working hard to change that and make each day better and better for me and my health! emoticon

The Gift Of Goodbye....

Monday, February 11, 2013

Whether it's goodbye to a relationship, friendship,or the relationship with yourself, sometimes the changes you make for your growth means some may NOT cheer them. They want you to be who you were before. The always yes, no problem...Don't show me up. Make no mistake, you will hear You're too thin, you're working out too much....Sound familiar??? On my journey to my ideal size and weight I heard this MANY, MANY times. What kept me going was my vision..I knew what I wanted ,who I wanted to become . Even my Ex said he never saw me stick with it for so long.

Truth:There will be people who do not like the changes you are making. the choice is do you be true to who you REALLY are, or pretend?

Sometimes the best gift is the gift of goodbye...

Very true. A lot of people want you to stay the same, either because they want you to be miserable like them or because they like feeling better than you. Either way, it's time to say good bye and move on up!

Spring Cleaning In January

Thursday, January 17, 2013

I just packed up all my clothes that do not fit anymore. Size 2x all the way down to size 6...GONE. I kept my ugly t shirt from my before picture and my dress from my son's bar mitzvah last spring. That is it.

Why do we hold on to this stuff? I had been putting this off for months now..I realized I was keeping them as a security blanket just incase I regained my weight. How many sizes do you have in your closet?

No matter where you are in your journey, maybe it's time to cast off the just in case clothes that no longer fit..

I have been doing this bit by bit! I am needing to go shopping and will this next weekend! I have probably 3 sizes in my closet right now-my size now, the next size down and some of my fave baggy clothes a size bigger that I can't get rid of until I wear them out, I guess. But, some are getting so baggy I will have to throw them out soon! emoticon
I am also between sizes, buying clothes now, is a daunting task! I hate shopping anyway and that makes it so much harder!!!!! emoticon
I need these too! emoticon

Good for you!! I had a great time purging mine as I whittled down and shopping at goodwill for replacements :)
It was the first time I had done this--past losses had me holding onto the old clothes in case I needed them--well this time I decided that I WOULD NOT need them ever again--I too kept one shirt and one pair of pants just to remind me of where I came from. I haven't had them out in over a year though now..maybe it's time for a little visit and maybe a photo :)

My closet only contains clothes that fit now but it took me several years to "let them go". The range was from size 6 (where I am now) to size 24. I'd been up and down so many times that it was hard to trust my loss as permanent, yet here I am with 7 years at or under goal. After a year or two, I started purging 2 sizes a year until now everything fits except a few items that are too small and only fit occasionally. I'm happy staying in the goal range I've reached and life is good. Congratulations on your amazing journey!

Ha ha, we are so different. I have 4 tubs of "too small" clothes in my closet plus the spare closet full of hanging clothes that don't fit anymore. Today when I was uncomfortable in my size 18 pants, it wasn't because they were too tight--it was because they were so baggy they were uncomfortable. I came right home, threw them (and some other clothes) in the wash and started a bag of stuff to get rid of. I can't WAIT to get rid of these big clothes and get back into my 16s, 14s, and 12s!

I was looking at my just-in-case size 12s. Last year I got rid of my just-in-case size 14s and XLs and quickly needed them again. But I kept stuffing myself into 12s.

So I'm a little nervous about getting rid of the 12s. I should though. It's got to be a lifestyle change so why hold on to them? Soon.

Good for you!

Jillian,ohhhh Jillian......

Sunday, January 13, 2013

Like many of you I watched the premier of The Biggest Loser. In the past I would
Eat my favorite sugar crack foods, wishing I could look like Ali, Michelle or Helen.

Was great to see Jillian back, that woman has a built in bs meter that was going off the charts the 1st 2 weeks.

If it were as simple as stopping the junk and moving, there would be no SP,Weight Watchers or any
other weight control program. I had to look at why I would kill myself working out, only to commit
Program suicide with junk food at night. Definately not what I wanted.

She has an amazing book called Unlimited.Being honest
In answering the questions showed me to be a people pleaser.
Forget what I wanted,I put myself in a mold to be what was expected.

Losing was easy for me,I was a one woman machine. When I hit my goal, not medicating with junk food, many emotions I hadn't dealt with came raging up to the surface.

Still a work in progress, this time around I hold myself accountable
For the choices I make. That bag of chocolate did not just fly unassisted down my throat.

Everyday we can CHOOSE to move forward with our goals,or we can CHOOSE to put the blinders on.

Thank you Jillian for being the butt kicker you are and to my SP family who make option 1
a lot easier .

I find it funny that so many people think Jillian is the mean one on the show. Sure she does more yelling and getting in the face of the contestants than Bob does, but look at Bob when he's training and people are slobbering, crying and falling over... he's always got a wicked smile on his face! I think Bob is a sadist and enjoys the pain of others!!!! LOL

I will say that I would probably prefer Bob as a trainer, but I would definitely not be upset to have Jillian. She just wants to cut through the emotional self sabotage of her team right at the beginning, force them to expose themselves and be face their emotional demons. Without doing that nothing will change long term for those folks.

I loved Susan Powter. Modify, modify, modify. She's a firmer believer in moving. I never bought Jillian's books. I have a lot of Susan Powter books. I have to modify. I have chronic pain and I can't always jump and I can't bend without a lot of stretching. I can't do a lot of moves due to pain or stiffness. I'm not moving in a way that my body doesn't want to move. I never broke a bone or tore a ligament. I'm not going to start now. People on Biggest Loser tear and break their bodies. I don't have a medic on hand if I hurt myself. emoticon

I have a love/hate relationship with Jillian. I like the no nonsense attitude, but when she starts yelling, I turn off. I have one of her DVDs and when she starts in about not skipping (or modifying) the jumping jacks because "400 pound people can do them" I yell back that "it's not a natural motion for me." Be quiet, I have other options! I'll modify if I want to. It's my body and according to your disclaimer, you aren't responsible for injuries. I wouldn't do well in the Marines either. LOL.
