I had been walking and eating right and doing everything right.....

But, I had been stuck for more a week and I could not figure it out.

Your body gets used to specific calorie levels and will be less responsive to losing weight. I read Chris Powell's book and he covers this topic completely. I chose two days that I would stay within my calorie levels but I would eat higher fat foods. I still ate the veggies and drank the water and did my 10,000 steps each day but I did not count the veggies as part of my calories. I had some pork bbq, I had some fried chicken, I had a cupcake, etc till I hit 1200 calories. I then closed down the kitchen for the day - no more food.

My body was SHOCKED by the high fat foods and it really didn't feel so great......BUT....it broke my plateau.

I can't promise it will work for you, but the change up did work for me.

Congratulations! I am going to cry when I hit my plateau. People keep telling me that it is inevitable...but it is easy to stay motivated when you see the pound falling off. What did you do to break the plateau and how long did it take you?

How long did it take you, and what did you do? I've been stuck at one weight almost a week and have been doing walk/run combinations and weights to "surprise" my body into giving up the pounds.

Those Elusive (so far) 20,000 Steps

Saturday, January 05, 2013

Well.....I didn't make it today either.....but I am not giving up. Tomorrow is another opportunity to try and reach that number. I'll keep you posted!

Otherwise, today was GREAT! We went to a larger town that has a multi level mall and we walked laps inside the mall where it was nice and warm. We ran lots of errands which was what cut into my number of steps a bit.

I am getting skinnier by the minute and smiling all the while.... emoticon emoticon

emoticon I'm trying to reach 15,000 steps for the first time. I feel like I need a few more hours in the day to achieve it or a shorter work day!

You are doing a wonderful job at this. I know you won't stop until you reach your goal. (Okay - except maybe Jan 31. I guess we will just have to go walkng on Dick and Willie after we eat!)

The Streak Begins

Tuesday, January 01, 2013

Just completed my 10,000 steps today. (ACTUALLY 11,129)

Joined the 100 Day Challenge thru Living Intentionally (30 mins exercise daily for 100 days)

Joined 100 Miles in 100 Days thru a local agency here in town (to be followed by a 5K at end of challenge)

Because of my personal commitment to the 10,000 steps.....the other two fit right in and should be achievable.

Excited! Motivated!
