Recovery In Progress

I damaged both legs in an attempt at 30 inch box jump. It was a bad fail and cost five stitches and some nerve damage, but there out and I'm okay to get back into the box (slowly at first). It has kind o gotten me down a bit about my lack of fitness minutes, so I have been trying to do more movement at home in between times of propping my leg up. I'm hoping that I can get back into the swing of things soon. Some parts are still tender and so I'm careful. I've also had some other stress that I just haven't figured out how to deal with yet. I'm still eating healthy and aiming for my 5% goal.

    Oh man, OUCH. Kudos for having the fitness to try it. I've seen it done before, but not sure I have the oomph to try it myself. Hope you get back to it soon!

Wow! Third Place at the Grage Games Summer Jam

I rarely blog, but I am so excited that we actually did a big competition after just starting crossfit. My husband and I started it about two months ago. When we entered the competition we never thought we'd make it past the third round. We made it to the 4th surprise round (surprise, it was two rounds)

Getting Realistic and a New Journal

Recently I caught a cold and I had some minor discomfort with my COPD. This time I didn't feel like giving in, even though I knew it could be a while before I exercised again. Although this may sound silly I was excited about a new journal.

I recently started crossfit to help me in trail running and I really enjoy it. A lady said to take a picture and keep track of my progress. My husband bought me a journal that I decorated with stickers and such. I also wrote down my results from testing week to compare with the next time. Today was my first day back exercising and I walked only but it was so exciting to make a memory in my new fitness journal. I'm so thankful to Jesus for so much.

    Journalling keeps me accountable, focused and is fun! Important to do it consistently & review every so often, (more often if your memory is short like mine! :)

Unexpected Challenges

A few days ago Charles (my husband - aka Papa175) started bleeding in his head behind his eye and his retina became detached. Tomorrow there is a specialist who is going to try and save any vision left in his eye. Right now he is almost blind in his left eye. They said he should have went to the ER when the floater appeared but he waited a few days, we never heard of it and didn't know it was so serious.



This has been so sudden that we were not prepared for the loss of work or the life changes. Insurance will cover down time, but his job requires he drive a stand up forklift for twelve hours. He cannot even drive the car right now. He is taking it somewhat well and we will work with what comes our way. God has been our strength and will continue to be.

    Great advice and thank you, I'm getting another checkup in about a week to see how this last year has been. My COPD gave me a setback last December so this Spring challenge is going to be very important to me.
