I've been reading a lot of Spark blogs lately and it has helped inspire and motivate me. I guess that's the point, right?
I read one about protein. For the past two days I was careful to eat high protein, lower carb. Down 2 pounds!! Healthy food has never been the issue for me. Portion control and lots of carbs is the problem. I still had oatmeal for breakfast both days. I just didn't have a starch with lunch or dinner.
I read another blog from a mom of 2. My daughter is 2 and son is 11 weeks. The 3 of us have been doing Jillian Michaels dvds together. It's hilarious. Baby is the bouncy seat, me with my weights and my daughter with her candle stick "weights." She's my own little Jillian. She puts her hands on my back when I do push-ups and gets upset if I am not doing exactly what the "TV girls" are doing. There have been days that it has taken over an hour to complete a 25 minute video, but it's better than nothing. And we're all having fun for the most part!
Another blog was about the value of alone time. After my daughter's birth it took me 10 months to get back to the gym. My husband noticed right away that I was handling stress better and happier in general. We both knew that this time we needed to make it a priority. The day after my 6 week check-up, I went to the gym! I am so lucky that my husband is incredibly supportive. He understands the value of alone time for me. I appreciate it so so much. Happy mom = happy family!!
I will continue to read blogs to help me. I am not yet brave enough to take pictures for the Rachel_Mac Challenge, but I have learned a lot from reading other entries. I know that's not fair, but I just can't do it. yet...
