Just returned home from a many hundred dollar a plate ball/fund raiser at Pelican Hill/Four Seasons facility (gorgeous golf resort) in Newport Beach, CA. It was a fabulous event with many friends in attendance - a success all around.
But as far as "sparking" goes, it was a success concerning my attire...of course, like most folks, I don't have piles of dresses suitable to wear to a ball laying around the house. But when invited, there was one long silk dress that I had in mind. This was a few months ago and I knew that it didn't fit; however, I counted on being able to get into it by tonight...and, voila! it fit quite well...and did the trick. No glass slipper left behind. No pumpkin coach or rats as doormen to be reckoned with. Smooth sailing all the way.
Cinderella had a smashing time and the dress fit and was, in fact, a hit. Ah, sweet success! However, the chocolate panna cotta and papaya sorbet were not on the planned food tracker so...tomorrow the fitness minutes will have to be stepped up a notch to make up for the potential calorie surplus...but, hey, how many balls does one get invited to in a lifetime? Gotta live a little, right?
