Rather Pleased With Myself

You know - - it is so unlike me to actually be pleased or proud of myself - - my self esteem is not my best trait. But today - I walked for 30 minutes at lunch then came home and did a 40 minute Turbo Jam - - and I really get into the workouts - - in the past sure I may work out here and there but basically just do some moving -- now I actually put everything that I can into them -- I have to keep them somewhat low impact right now because of my knee until I lose some weight but once I can - - I will be jumping more than I do now.

So for today - I am patting myself on the back instead of putting myself down. That is a step in the right direction, right?

It's fantastic when we can get to a point of enjoying things that used to seem chore-like. It's all due to you, your choices and keeping focused and positive. Way to go!

Stress Relief

I usually suffer from stress/tension in my shoulder areas across my back. I have realized that it is not near as bad since I have been exercising. Even my chiropractic commented that it must be doing some good because I was not near as "out" as I usually am.

I need to remember this - - I need to remember how much better physically and emotionally that I feel after exercising so I don't fall back into the realm of excuses. I only did 20 minutes tonight but that is ok - - just not every night - - tomorrow will be another 50-60 minute session (that is my goal).

  The feeling one gets from a workout, both physically and mentally, regardless of the length of the workout is powerful. Continue to remember how you feel physically and mentally and this will help you through. It is easy to fall back on old habits. We have all done it. What is important is you are back and working at it again. Keep up the good work emoticon
As soon as I get clearance - either tomorrow or Friday I hope - from my doctor (had minor surgery), I will be return (and yes, I have been off the wagon for a few months or so) to the treadmill.

Another day closer to Friday - -Yeah!

Seems like we live our lives to get to the weekend! Did the 45 minute Turbo Jam Cardio Mix - - -love it! Sweat like a pig but it is worth it when I'm done.

Determined to exercise 6 times a week -- sometimes 5 -- even getting DH to exercise at the same time on weekends - - of course, he is done before me so he watchs - - that is a little distracting but I don't finish until it is done. I think he just likes to see the girls on Turbo Jam bend over and look at their tattas lol.

    Girl, I can honestly say that I am working & living for the weekends! Like the Loverboy song! Haha!

The TJ workouts make me sweat like a man! For real! Back, chest, arm pits, even my legs & butt! Ew! emoticon

I am totally impressed that your DH will do ANY part of a workout with you. I absolutely LOVE your sense of humor! My DH won't even watch the workout for the girls. He's got to watch too many other people on TV participating in sports/physical activity. LOL! Hope you have a great day! emoticon

emoticon I am so motivated today and I am trying to soak in the feelings that I have right now. I just did 50 minutes of the 60 minute Turbo Jam - Total Body Blast workout - -next time I'll really try to do the 60 minutes but -- 50 minutes - I have NEVER exercised for 50 minutes straight. For that I am so proud of myself and feel so good about myself.

Today I feel that maybe just maybe my goal is attainable - - there is always this inner voice telling me that I will just fail - - again - - exercising gives me back the power to say NO - - this time I AM DOING IT!

We can all do it - - together!

New Week Ahead of Us

Today is a beautiful day! Summer may finally be on it's way!

Can't wait to get out and walk outside and ride bikes! Yeah! Did 20 minute turbo jam today - -wasn't going to do anything because my "lazy" side was telling me how tired I am - -and I was - -made myself do the workout and I actually got energy after doing it! I have to keep myself in check or I will allow that "evil" side to overcome the "new" me!

New as in mentally focused on exercising -- I don't have a "new" me physically - - YET.

It is becoming routine to exercise and I do look forward to it - - just keep your fingers (and toes) crossed that I keep it up! I want so badly to lose 50-60 pounds by next April - - think I can?

    I had the same experience with turbo jam this afternoon...I did the turbo sculpt video, and then thought to myself that I needed to do some I popped in a cardio party, and I totally half-assed my way through it, but I was able to finish it and felt better after the fact. During the video, though, I kept wanting to quit and my "lazy" side was definitely voicing it's opinion!
Stay strong, I'm right there with ya with Turbo Jam. :)
