I'd like to share what God told me some time ago..."Practice, practice, practice!" Patience and Love take practice. Practice making choices that involve putting others' needs and desires above yours. This won't happen by accident. You MUST do it ON PURPOSE! Hebrews 5:14 in the Amplified says it like this...But solid food is for full-grown men, for those whose senses and mental faculties are trained by practice to discriminate and distinguish between what is morally good and noble and what is evil and contrary either to divine or human law.
Jesus lived His life practicing choices that put others' needs above His own so He would be ready and able to make the ULTIMATE choice for us ALL. As Jesus was mocked and insulted by the criminal on the cross: "aren't you The Messiah? Save Yourself and us", He knew He could not save Himself if He was to follow through with God's perfect plan. He chose God's perfect plan and HE CHOSE US! HALLELUJAH! This week as we celebrate the Passion, the Death, and Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, let us be ever mindful of this choice.
Here is something to meditate on...When you practice making Christ-like choices, you get A LOT less practice in repentance.
Have a Blessed Easter Week! Rick

Here is a song from my childhood. This is an old Catholic hymn that really moved my heart as a child. God brought this up in me today and completely blessed me by doing so! After reading a song post on a team thread today, I felt moved to post this also. God showed me today how He, so many years ago, put His desire into my heart. Now after many years of "my way", I have come to seek these words as a lifestyle! It's titled The Prayer of Saint Francis, also known as...Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace. It so much more than just a song or a prayer, it is how Jesus lived on this earth, and I believe it is how WE should also. Here's the link and I've also posted the lyrics. I pray it blesses you as it has me! In Jesus' Name! Amen.
Make me a channel of your peace.
Where there is hatred let me bring your love.
Where there is injury, your pardon, Lord
And where there's doubt, true faith in you.
Oh, Master grant that I may never seek
So much to be consoled as to console
To be understood as to understand
To be loved as to love with all my soul.
Make me a channel of your peace
Where there's despair in life, let me bring hope
Where there is darkness, only light
And where there's sadness, ever joy.
Make me a channel of your peace
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned
In giving to all men that we receive
And in dying that we're born to eternal life.

This message came to me as I was reading a devotional on Christmas. I really want to share it. This world needs Jesus! NOW more than ever! Jesus is at the right hand of The Father. WE(His Body) are here in this world. His Presence is in us! We are to be Jesus to this world. I'd like to challenge and encourage each of us to realize that the world is watching. We should be different, we should be consistent, and we should walk in the light as He is in the light!
Meditate on this....The world will only experience the joy of His birth to the extent that I exhibit joy. The world will only taste the peace of His coming to the extent that I reveal His peace. The world will only know the hope of Christmas when I respond to pain and disappointment as a hopeful believer. The world will see the Light of the world when I allow my life to become a shining beacon to humanity...
Joy! To Your World! Jesus has been born in you. God is looking for believers who will be bold enough and joyful enough to embrace the miracle of Christmas, not just one day a year, but every day of every season! Hallelujah!
Christmas was not all about Mary ... or Joseph ... or Elizabeth and Zacharias ... or shepherds and Magi. Christmas is all about you! It is about making yourself available at this time in history to reveal the presence and love of our Savior. You are the present that today God is choosing to give to your world. Your generation is desperate for the glory of a Savior. Without you, they may never know His name or the purpose of His coming.
Id like to send my heart-felt, warmest wishes for a Merry Christmas to you and your family! As we exchange gifts and celebrate, let us remember that The first Christmas gift EVER was Love...For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) RECEIVE that Love, be filled with that Love, tap into that Love and share that Love with each and every person you come in contact with! God wants us to do this not just today, but EVERY DAY of every season. AMEN! God Bless!

Vote Holy Spirit
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.Ė (James 1:5)
The NLT reads this way... If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.
As a believer, you have probably stood for your nation for years. I know I have. I pray for the leaders of the United States government from the president down to our local level regularly. I specifically release my faith and believe God for the deliverance and preservation of our spiritual heritage. I thank God that we are a free nation, that we can worship our God openly.
On the local level, on a regular basis, we have the opportunity to vote for elected officials. And every four years, we vote for the next president. Itís a tremendous privilege and a tremendous responsibility.
Many believers are tempted to be discouraged by the things they see wrong with the political system. But that is never a reason not to vote. No matter where you live, voting is putting feet to your faith. Voting brings to life your faith by taking the action real faith demands.
Yes, we should pray. And vote. We can never underestimate the importance of elections. They establish the spiritual climate of a nationís government. There are spiritual battles that rage over political positions. Satan is always trying to tell people that their vote wonít matter, that their one vote wonít make a difference. But that is a lie from the devil himself. Donít listen to his deceptions.
If you donít know whom to vote for, then go to the Lord and ask Him. He has specific ideas on how you should vote, and He will give you the wisdom you need (James 1:5). Take the time to get that wisdom from Him. Vote Holy Spirit!
Then, as Ephesians 6:13 says, ďHaving done all...stand.Ē
Stand in line to register to vote.
Stand in line to vote.
Stand in faith, believing His will to come to pass.
And then, no matter who wins, stand in prayer for them. Your job isnít finished in the voting booth...it continues in your prayer closet. You can make a difference, before, during and after the elections. Your vote counts and your prayer counts!
Scripture Reading: 1 Timothy 2:1-4... Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for ALL men, for kings and ALL who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

A continued message that God keeps driving home in me is "you will never have to answer for anyone's actions but YOUR OWN" . I dwell on that all day as I encounter situations that might try to entice me into words or actions contrary to God's Word. This came to me as one of my readings a few days ago. This came at the perfect time(God's timing is ALWAYS perfect). As we approach the election day, we(as Christians, TRUE disciples, FOLLOWERS of Jesus) need to rise above the foolishness of this world and also the foolishness of fellow believers. We are to trust in God and know that ONLY HE puts rulers into power and WE are to only pray for them and respect the office. Tap into the Power of God and ask HIM to give you strength and revelation of areas where you might "want to" enter in and allow HIM to empower you NOT to indulge in negative political "bashing" or "judging" our leaders. We are to soar like eagles... I once heard a preacher talking about eagles. He said that in the wild, crows and other "nasty" birds try to attack and squawk, and continually try to agitate eagles. Rather than engage or get caught up in any of the other bird's "foolishness", the eagle is the only bird that can fly up to 30 THOUSAND feet and survive! (Can you imagine???) The eagle just turns its focus upward and RISES ABOVE the attacks and does NOT choose to engage. WE are to look to God, accept HIS direction, and rise above the foolishness of this world, as on the wings of the eagle! Make that commitment today, and for always! God Bless.
Guard What You Say About Leaders
ACTS 23:5 NLT
5 "I'm sorry, brothers. I didn't realize he was the high
priest," Paul replied, "for the Scriptures say, 'You must not
speak evil of any of your rulers.'"
A major, yet often unrecognized, problem is members of the Body
of Christ using their words to curse leaders. (It is not
necessary to use profanity to curse. Any time anyone speaks
badly of someone the Bible calls it a curse. Jesus cursed the
fig tree by simply saying no one would ever eat fruit from it.)
Don't fall into the devil's trap. Christians have been
delegated authority on Earth by Jesus Christ. When we speak bad
things about people we are abusing that authority which was
given to us to bless, and not to curse.
ROMANS 12:14 NLT
14 Bless those who persecute you. Don't curse them; pray that
God will bless them.
The world tries to get us to focus on the shortcomings,
weaknesses, and failures of our leaders. Admittedly, all
leaders are human. Not one of them can be expected to be
perfect. This is why it's important for us to pray for them,
and not to joke about them, or say anything bad about them.
1 TIMOTHY 2:1-2 NLT
1 I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to
help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.
2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that
we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and
Think about this: you cannot pray in faith for a leader and
also talk badly about them. Such negative speaking would negate
The leaders when the New Testament was written were certainly
not perfect. Yet the New Testament never encourages any
disrespect to those in positions of authority.
ROMANS 13:1 ESV
1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For
there is no authority except from God, and those that exist
have been instituted by God.
The spirit of the age is to mock, belittle, and criticize
everyone, but especially those in authority. We must guard
against this trap of our enemy.
You don't have to lie and say anything good about a leader. You
don't have to vote for them. You can just keep quiet.
SAY THIS: I will not speak badly of others, especially those
who are leaders.
