Travel Hassle

Two turkey vultures board an airplane, each carrying two dead armadillos. The flight attendant stops them and says, Im sorry, gentlemen, we allow only one carrion per passenger.

BRAINTEASER

Two-eff Jeff was sitting in a chair in the middle of the room. One-eff Jef walked up and said, Ill bet you a dollar that before I run around your chair three times, youll get up. And I promise I wont push you or throw things at you. When you get up, it will be by choice. Two-eff Jeff took the bet, thinking hed make an easy dollar. But it was soon obvious that One-eff Jef had won. Why?

ANSWER:

One-eff Jef ran around the chair twice and then said, Ill be back in a week to run around it a third time.

A trip without the kids.

GO FOR COLOR

Monday, October 10, 2011

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

When picking foods from a holiday buffet, focus on the range of colors you're putting on your plate. For example, foods like cranberries, broccoli rabe, yellow peppers, and eggplant are all high in fiber as well as rich in vitamins and minerals, so they should make up the majority of your plate. Try to limit your intake of items that are brown, tan and white (this is mainly meats and starches like gravy and potatoes); they tend to be naturally higher in fat & calories.

That's great advice. But, I'm honestly still afraid of Thanksgiving! I don't even want to start thinking about it now. It's a combination of all the food that will be available (which I feel, currently, like I don't have enough willpower to resist) and the pressure from the presence of relatives to indulge. I'm nervous about it. If I were just going to my Mom's it would be no problem because she already knows what I'm attempting and she wouldn't fix a trillion items. But, when its a huge family gathering, it's all kinds of different foods from everyone...a huge potluck! Well, it's only October, so I need not think about it now... You're stressing me out. Why'd you have to post this! LOL

We try to aim for a colorful plate. Also a colorful cart when grocery shopping.
