Be Spontaneous!

Friday, July 15, 2011

While having a daily routine can be comforting, it can lead to boredom, drain your energy, and take a toll on your mental health. Shake things up for a happier, healthier you: Book that last-minute vacation, sign up for a 5K on a whim or get down with an impromptu living room dance party!

How Can You Make Healthy Habits Stick?

Thursday, July 14, 2011

Try this cool mental motivator:

Predict you will eat better and work out more next week and you probably will, according to a recent study in the Journal of Consumer Research. The reason is that once you turn wishful thinking into a plan of action, that goal feels more accessible and your behavior becomes more consistent with your ideal.

Simple, but it works! Self-predictions can help reinforce good habits and disrupt bad ones.

In other words: I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...I know I can!!!

Waistline Wake-up Call

Wednesday, July 13, 2011

The latest link between lbs. and catching zzz's.

Another reason to hit the hay earlier: Skimping on slumber may cause you to gain weight. According to a study from the New York Obesity Nutrition Research Center, when women got just 4 hours of sleep instead of eight, they consumed about 329 more calories on a daily basis-mostly from fatty foods. Tossing & turning all night? Start the day with a filling, protein-packed breakfast-and don't let too much time lapse before lunch.

3:23 p.m.
The time of day when dieters are most likely to give in to temptation. Have a healthy nosh handy for the next time the siren call of the vending machine is particularly loud.

Yeah stress can effect the waist line.. I usually hop over my fruit at lunch and nosh on it waiting for my bus or give myself only enough time to grab essentials to literally trot to my bus to make it..

Safe touch down is reaching my bus seat emoticon emoticon

Thoughts

Tuesday, July 12, 2011

Life is not a race, but indeed a journey.
Be honest.

Work hard.

Be choosy.

Say "Thank you", "I Love You", and "Great Job" to someone each day.

Let your handshake mean more than pencil and paper.

Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to.

Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them.

Some of the best things really are free.

Do not worry, take time for yourself-plan for longevity.

Life

Monday, July 11, 2011

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Never get too busy making a living that you forget to make a life.
