HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Thursday, November 19, 2009

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey be plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have never a lump.
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for the smile this morning! As I read that it reminded me that I must have a plan before Thanksgiving to make good choices and not over indulge. I hope to keep up the weight loss not just do damage control. Happy Thanksgiving to you!! emoticon Ritarose

Spark Points

Wednesday, November 18, 2009

I am so excited! I just passed the 5,000 point mark. I am so proud of myself. I had joined SparkPeople quite a while ago, but never really got into it. This time, I love it so much. I have been talking it up to all my TOPS friends, trying to get them involved, too.

I find that SparkPeople helps me to stay focused since I visit the site every single day. I enjoy playing some of the games like trivia & taking polls, along with keeping up with my teams.

FAMILY

Monday, November 16, 2009

Yesterday a large portion of my family attended a get-together at a local restaurant, kind of a "mini-reunion". It was fantastic! Getting to see the children of my cousins and getting to actually know them is a wonderful thing. We shared stories of the past and the present, plus deciding to make plans to do this again in the future.

It really made me think. I have always been one to honor family and try to keep everyone in touch somehow. It gave me great pleasure to see that others in my family have realized how important it is, also.

I love family gatherings. They just don't happen often enough. I take my dad back at least once a year to see his ageing remaining family members. Oh the stories you hear.

CHAIR YOGA

Sunday, November 15, 2009

Well, I did it! I took my very first yoga class through my local library. It was really, really great! I have always thought of yoga as something kinda weird, but it really is not at all like that. This was so soothing, yet invigorating at the same time. Along with the yoga, we tasted 3 different types of yummy teas and had some chocolate with the tea also. It was a totally relaxing experience. I think I like yoga. Once I get a job, maybe I will seek out a yoga class!

It didn't know that there was chair yoga. I thought you had to position yourself into a 'pretzel'. Hmmmm sounds like fun!

The power of Positive Thinking

Friday, November 13, 2009

I feel very confident today, which is not the norm for me. I tend to see the glass as half empty most of the time. However, today I had a job interview - my first in quite a while of searching. It went very, very well in my opinion. I am perfect for the job...now I just have to see if the interviewer agrees. Because I know that I did the absolute best I could at the interview, I am feeling positive about the outcome.

Funny how just having one good experience can change my whole outlook!
