This was posted on a scale:

You have no hold on my mood, my day or my life.

I am more than just a number.

I am enough.

I am beautiful - right now, as I am.

It's not about losing weight - I'm taking better care of myself because I deserve it.

YEAH!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticonfor these powerful, marvelous words, Judy! They bring a smile to my face and remind me why I only have one once-a-month weigh-in. No more frequent harsh judgments of myself on that contraption!!! - Sandi emoticon

I have not weighed myself since 7/26. I was jumping on multiple times a day and becoming frustrated. The scale now resides on the top shelf in a closet. Too much trouble to bring it down now.

It is simply amazing to me just how much my SparkPeople friends have come to mean to me. One of my SparkPeople buddies is leaving because of personal problems. I feel as if I am losing a best friend. I don't want her to leave and sure hope that she doesn't.

Losing weight is such a difficult journey, but it is made easier when you go through it with wonderful helpful friends like my Spark Buddies.

Thank you all for being there!

I hope your friend will change their mind and not leave maybe just cut back on time spent. It can be very time consuming.

Sparks takes up a lot of time so I can see where someone would have to cut down but please try to convince your friend that she would be missed and she would miss this just have her cut down the time spent. I don't know what I'd do without my Spark friends now....

    Good morning, Judy.
Perhaps, if they have to leave Spark, it will be temporary. I have noticed several posts this week from people taking time off or returning from a break.
Yeah- sparkfriends like you mean a lot...

Walking with Dinosaurs

Saturday, July 31, 2010

We saw the show today - WOW!!!! It was truly amazing. These dinosaurs were so lifelike. It was the best show. So cool.

This is the first time I have tried to load a picture to my blog - hope it works. I don't know how to make it the right direction, either. I took more pictures, but I don't know how to send them to my computer so I can put them here. Oh, well. Just imagine seeing all kinds of dinosaurs "live & in person, living & breathing & walking & roaring". That was this show!

I've taken our nieces to two different dinosaur shows...but not this one. It came to
San Antonio...but I didn't see it. I bet it is really awesome. So glad you got to go,.

I saw it this spring with my daughter. I was surprised by how good it was--I enjoyed it as much as she did. It was worth the money in my opinion

Senior Wedding

Jacob, age 92, and Rebecca, age 89, living in Miami , are all excited about their decision to get married. They go for a stroll to discuss the wedding, and on the way they pass a drugstore.. Jacob suggests they go in.

Jacob addresses the man behind the counter:

"Are you the owner?"

The pharmacist answers, "Yes."

Jacob: "We're about to get married. Do you sell heart medication?"

Pharmacist: "Of course, we do."

Jacob: "How about medicine for circulation?"

Pharmacist: "All kinds."

Jacob: "Medicine for rheumatism?"

Pharmacist: "Definitely."

Jacob: "How about suppositories?"

Pharmacist: "You bet!"

Jacob: "Medicine for memory problems, arthritis and Alzheimer's?"

Pharmacist: "Yes, a large variety. The works."

Jacob: "What about vitamins, sleeping pills, Geritol, antidotes for Parkinson's disease?"

Pharmacist: "Absolutely."

Jacob: "Everything for heartburn and indigestion?"

Pharmacist: "We sure do."

Jacob: "You sell wheelchairs and walkers and canes?"

Pharmacist: "All speeds and sizes."

Jacob: "Adult diapers?"

Pharmacist: "Sure."

Jacob: "We'd like to use this store as our Bridal Registry."

I know I am supposed to be very happy that I have a job...and believe me, I am. However, the office manager, Carol and I are the only office staff...so with Carol so ill and out of the office almost 2 weeks already - this is tough stuff.

I work for a roofing company and I really do love the job & the people I work with. But, I haven't learned how to do everything yet and the phones are simply unbelievably busy and I am trying to answer all the calls plus handle the mail & the checks and the roofing estimates that have to be proofread and sent out plus writing up the workorders so the guys can go out & do the work plus............well, you get the picture.

Anyhow, I just wanted to vent some of my stress here. Thanks for listening if you got this far!

Oh, Judy...it sounds like a cauldron at work - that or a pressure cooker, I'm not sure which! I really feel for you! I hope Carol is back to help you very soon. There's a flip side to the gratitude many feel right now that they've got a job: Businesses, if they're not cutting back staff, are usually not adding to their personnel right now. So those who are employed are so often overburdened, as you are. I hope it lets up soon! - Sandi emoticon

Sorry it is so hectic, Judy. With you practically JUST STARTING there sure adds to the stress. It's not like you know everything like the back of your hand. Hope your co-worker comes back soon. I sure hope they appreciate all you are doing. Bet it's nice to walk through your door each evening and just sit down with Cliff and the furr babies. Hang in there. mary

You just vent away and I hope that will help. You are really overwhelmed right now. I hope Carol will be able to come back soon at least part-time.

As busy as you are I'm sure your days go by fast. Have a nice evening the weekend is almost here.
