Did you hear about the invisible man who married an invisible woman?

Their kids weren’t much to look at.

What city is home to the oldest Torah in the United States?

Savannah, Georgia. The deerskin Torah was brought there from England in 1733 by Jews who were originally from Portugal, Spain, and Germany. The sacred scroll is now kept on display by Congregation Mickve Israel, the synagogue they founded.

Happy Passover!

BEHIND THE SCENES

What it’s like to be a contestant on Jeopardy!

* Jeopardy! films five episodes—a week’s worth of shows—in one day. Because of this, contestants are told to bring three outfits with them in case they win a game and come back as the next episode’s “returning champion” on the next “day.”

* The player who comes in first gets to keep whatever money they win. Second-and third-place contestants get a flat fee: $2,000 for second place, $1,000 for third.

* Since the 1950s quiz-show scandals, FCC rules prohibit the host from interacting with contestants, as he may have prior knowledge of the day’s questions. So contestants do not meet or see host Alex Trebek until the taping begins and he saunters out onstage.

FASCINATING TRIVIA !
I NEVER would have guessed
about the oldest Torah
being in the Deep South !

It would be SO COOL to be
on Jeopardy !
Do you recall the Golden Girls
episode when Dorothy dreams of
and actually tries out for it?
One of my FAVES !
It's EASY to shout out the answer
in the comfort and ease of your
living room, but must be stressful
in front of a live audience !
I know that I would FREEZE UP
with FRIGHT- even with knowing
the correct answer !

What famous mystery writer claimed she got her best story ideas while sitting in a bathtub munching on green apples?

Agatha Christie

Hmmm - I wonder if she would have gotten the same inspiration if she was munching red apples? emoticon

One summer day in 2010, a five-year-old boy named Andrew was playing at a New Jersey lake when he wandered into deeper water and began struggling. His mother tried to help, but lost her footing on the slippery rocks and started panicking. Then Andrew disappeared beneath the surface. Suddenly, a neighbor, 8-year-old Reese, ran to the water’s edge and dove in. A few long seconds later, Reese surfaced, holding Andrew around his shoulders, and pulled him safely to shore. The save was textbook lifeguarding … a skill Reese had learned from a SpongeBob SquarePants episode in which SpongeBob becomes a lifeguard.

SUPERPUP (1958)
Adventures of Superman ended production in 1958, but producer Whitney Ellsworth had an idea for a spin-off that would allow him to cheaply reuse the old show’s sets. His idea: Superpup. Set in a dog-populated Metropolis, it featured a cast of little people, outfitted in rubber dog masks playing dog versions of Superman characters. They were even given dog-pun names, such as Terry Bite (Perry White) and Bark Bent (Clark Kent).

A teacher asked her second-grade class what they thought was nature’s biggest mystery. Little Jimmy raised his hand and said, “The bear’s coat.”
Curious, the teacher asked, “Why do you think the bear’s coat is nature’s biggest mystery?”
“Because,” said Jimmy, “heaven knows where it’s buttoned.”

What do superstar Jennifer Lopez and Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba have in common? Both started as “Fly Girl” dancers on In Living Color. Comedians Jim Carrey and Jamie Foxx also got their start on the show, an early ’90s alternative to Saturday Night Live.

Mr. Belvedere was pitched to CBS in 1956 … and 1965, and finally picked up by ABC … in 1985.
