Snow

Thursday, February 09, 2012

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Sounds like we might get some lake effect snow in the next day or so - maybe up to 5-6". Well, I guess we couldn't have expected to get away with the kind of winter we've been having so far for too much longer, huh?

We're not going to get any snow after the way the winter has been going! The weather forecasters were wrong about the snow a couple days ago and they'll probably be wrong again! Enjoy the sun - I know I am! Have a super day!

Confidence

Wednesday, February 08, 2012

What's your trick for boosting your confidence?

37 percent - working out or being active

20 percent - applying makeup or styling hair

20 percent - putting on a sexy outfit or high heels

13 percent - taking a second to breathe and smile

10 percent - thinking about my past successes.

From a poll in Shape Magazine

I'm part of the 13 percent who takes a second to breathe and smile - how about you? emoticon

Have yourself a wonderful day!

Happiness 911

Tuesday, February 07, 2012

Need a quick jolt of happiness, right now? Try this:

Reach out to friends. Call, make a lunch date, or send an e-mail to a friend. Having warm, close bonds with other people is one of the keys to happiness, so take the time to stay in touch.

3 ways to stick to your exercise routine

Monday, February 06, 2012

Although some people assume that exercise is tiring, in fact it boosts energy, especially in sedentary people. But even when you know the benefits, it can be hard to form the habit. Try these strategies:

1. Give yourself credit for the smallest effort. Just start. Promise yourself you can quit after ten minutes. Once you begin, youíll probably find that you donít want to quit after all.
2. Think about context. Are you distressed about the grubby showers in your gym? Do you try to run in the mornings, but recoil from going out in the cold? Examine the factors that might be discouraging you from exercising, and see if you can come up with ways around them.
3. Exercise several times a week. If your idea of exercise is to join games of pickup basketball, you should be playing practically every day. Twice a month isnít enough.

Simply put! And find something that you love doing! You will never stick to a routine if you don't like it to begin with. AND don't be afraid to switch routines----your body needs to be confused on a regular basis!!!

Sunday Silly

Sunday, February 05, 2012

A man noticed that the type on his printer was getting faint. He called a local repair shop, and was told by a friendly employee that it probably just needed to be cleaned. Because the store charged $50.00 for such cleanings, the employee told the man that he might be better off reading the manual and trying to repair it himself.

Surprised by the employee's candor, the man asked, "Does your boss know you're so honest?"

"Actually," the employee replied sheepishly, "it's his idea. We usually make more money on repairs if we let people try to fix it themselves first."
