Coming down the home stretch

Monday/Tuesday -
Didn't do food journal. Got busy and forgot to pull it out.
Exercise - Monday - walking at store, at least 30"; Tuesday - strength exercises
Sweets - did OK, had two servings of my fave, Gertrude Hawke peanut butter smidgens

Wednesday thru Christmas Monday -
Exercise - Wednesday-Saturday - at least 30" cardio daily; 1 or 2 strength sessions; Sunday/Monday - any exercise I can fit in
Make healthy choices most of the time
Watch Portions !!!
Goodies OK but watch portions and don't overdo.
Enjoy the coming days, do not go overboard on treats and if I do, no guilt allowed.

Saturday/Sunday -
Did well with portions, didn't overeat, even when my hubby's son brought brunch on Saturday - cheese sandwiches, various muffins and bagels, cookies, danish, butters and cream cheeses for toppings. I had half a cheese sandwich and half a bagel ! YAY me !
Counted fiber intake - had at least 20 grams both days
Sweets - did fair, had a few cookies yesterday

Monday/Tuesday -
Food Journal - calories/fiber
Exercise - optional today/cardio or strength Tuesday
Sweets - watch portions !

Coming down the home stretch. This week's plan is to keep up the regular exercise, make healthy choices at meals, allow sweets but watch the portions. If I go overboard, get right back on track. No guilt allowed.

Weekend plan

Tuesday - Friday -
Good portion control, but did slip up on the sweets yesterday.
Exercise - did strength exercises Tuesday and Friday, wii cardio exercises Wednesday and Thursday

Got my computer back yesterday afternoon. The hard drive was replaced, nothing could be salvaged from the old dead one. My tech guy was here late afternoon and connected everything back up to the network. He only charged me for the one hour he was here yesterday, no charge for the hard drive or the work he did in his shop. Nice. The computer is like a brand new one, all my programs, etc, are gone. Now my work begins. Fun, fun.

Weekend Plan -
Watch Portions !
Count fiber !
Limit sweets !
Exercise - cardio Saturday, cardio or rest Sunday

  I'm sorry that your old hard drive is no longer with us, but it sounds like you got a peach of a deal from your tech guy! You are doing SO well! You should be very proud of yourself.

Counted fiber - did eat at least 22 grams each day
Sweets - did well Friday, Saturday and Monday, overdid it Sunday
Portions - Good, except for the sweets
Exercise - Friday - walking in AM, strength in PM; Saturday - 20" of new wii exercise video; Sunday - 30" Walk It Out video; Monday - rest day

Today -

  I really think you are making some great changes! I remember when I tried to up my fiber intake too quickly and ate a bunch of Fiber One every day. I'm allergic to wheat and I was so uncomfortable. I was blown away by too much fiber too soon. I think I learned my lesson there. Fiber is SO important but I know now to raise the level s-l-o-w-l-y.
You said you are having a challenge with sweets. I read in the secrets of success that someone said if your salt intake is too high you will crave sweets. I don't know if it is true, or true for you, but I just thought I would tell you about what someone else on SP has said.

Catching up

Wednesday/Thursday -
Fiber - 21 grams/22 grams
Candy - overdid it again Wednesday but did good Thursday
Exercise - Wednesday - strength, sampled new wii exercise video for about 20"/Thursday - Walk It Out - 30"

Went with hubby to his post hospital checkup yesterday. The doc was pleased with how quickly the diverticulitis responded to treatment. DH can now increase his diet back to normal. He said the only way to prevent a recurrence in the future is surgery to remove the lower portion of the bowel where the diverticula are, which is elective surgery. DH does not want surgery but the doc said if this recurs and emergency surgery is needed a temporary colostomy would be needed. We're going to take a little time to think about it, I suggested we get a second opinion before deciding, probably after the holidays.

Exercise - strength today, cardio or rest Saturday, cardio or rest Sunday
