I'm posting goals for both months since it is so late in July...
1. join SparkPeople to change my life - completed 7/8/08
2. begin creating weekly menus
3. lose 10 lbs, down to 289
4. exercise 20 min 4x/week (baby steps)
5. track my food EVERY day
1. continue working on weekly menus (this one is tough for me)
2. lose 15 lbs, down to 274
3. exercise 30 min 5x/week
4. switch to unrefined sea salt

So I sabotaged myself yesterday- I was so excited, I had done so well all week, losing 5 lbs. Lunch wasn't bad, I had a chicken taco salad at the mexican restaurant, and luckily it had hardly any cheese on it, mostly lettuce and grilled chicken. I did add a little sour cream and guacamole, and lots of salsa.
But later in the afternoon my dear bf and I went to a movie. He went to get snacks while I went to get our seats, as it was packed (Dark Night - Batman). I told him I just wanted something to drink (and he knows that means no carbonation for me, so lemonade or fruit punch) and no food. He comes back with a HUGE container of popcorn WITH BUTTER! And cookie dough bites. And my willpower just flew right out the window.
However, I did go grocery shopping later last night, and I think I bought more fresh produce than I have ever purchased at one time before! Lots of fruits & veggies, I'm looking forward to prepping them all after work tonight.
Hopefully this week I will do just as good as last week, WITHOUT the ugly slip on my one day off.

When I joined SP on 7/8, I weighed in at 297.6, which went up to 299.9 after my out-of-town jaunt to my brother's wedding 2 days later. So this week I have focused on using the nutrition tracker, and getting back into the habit of exercising every morning. I really didn't think I had done very good, as I had a hard time not snacking at work this week. But I just weighed myself, and I'm down to 294.8! It is so encouraging and motivating to actually see the scale move - I think it will give me the strength to order healthier when I go out to lunch with my sister today.
Today will be my first time eating at a restaurant since I got back from my trip. Ironically, it will be luncheon with a group from BBW - which I am not a member of, but my sister's friend is. I guess it is a singles dating site for plus-sized women, which holds no interest for me since I live with my BF of 5 years. Speaking of, I can't wait to tell him what the scale said today!

I just joined SP yesterday, and tonight I'm going out of town until Saturday for my brother's wedding. I don't think I'll have access to a computer during that time, so I won't be tracking anything. The wedding is Friday in Pasco, WA, but I'm heading down there from Spokane tonight so that I can spend time with some friends. I'm hoping that we won't be eating out much, I'm staying at a friend's house and she likes to cook. However, I think there will be some drinking going on over the next few days. I know we are going out Thursday night to sing karaoke, and the wedding reception is going to be a wild party on Friday night. Hopefully I will keep some semblance of control and not go too far overboard!
My vacation was fabulous, I had a great time, but I did not monitor my intake, and I drank a few beers. I gained 2 lbs during my trip, which I did expect because I knew I was going to drink the beer. Now it's time to get back on track and be accountable for my actions. I started off the week on a plus, I got up and exercised this morning. Now I just need to stick to that routine every day.
