I am tired of eating out of a measuring cup.

Monday, June 02, 2008

I was just sitting here thinking "I am tired of eating out of a measuring cup . Is there someone out there that makes a microwaveable measuring bowl?" I don't really eat out of a measuring cup, but it would be nice if someone made a bowl that was already marked in various cup increments. If you come across such a thing, drop me an email.

If you buy a storage bowl set from WalMart or a store like that, they range in different sizes some as small as 1/4 cup. It says on the bottom how much it will hold. Or get a microwavable take to work type plate. It is divided into 3 sections and has a lid. Measure how much you can put in each section and then you wouldn't have to measure each time. Hope this helps.

Oh heck. I just decided to make my own. Used a microwaveable plastic bowl and magic marker. Of course my wife does not like me marking up her bowls. emoticon

What a great idea! I'm going to start looking in the stores for one.

That would be a great idea! One less thing to have to wash too, if you just want to heat something up quickly.

I'm not sure I've ever run across such a thing... but maybe go to target.com or bedbathandbeyond.com and type "microwaveable measuring bowl" into their search engine. I'd also be interested in if there is such a thing.

It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to get healthy. I've never understood how chefs on food channels expect us to "eyeball" recipes. I usually (or should I say ALWAYS) go way over the measurement amount.

You're doing wonderfully though, keep it up!

Beans, Beans, Good For You

Monday, April 14, 2008

I love beans, all types of beans. I was trying to figure out what classification beans were in. Then I came across a website that told me that they could be either a vegetable or protein. Oh well, I might have to go back and check that website again. For my own info it can be found at beansforhealth.org . More information on beans than I needed to know.

I love black eyed peas. They are great if you break up a piece of corn bread in a bowl, put black eyed peas on top then add just a little vinegar. I haven't had that in awhile. I think I will put it on my grocery list LOL. Anyway you are doing awesome. Pam

I love beans and usually have them once a week. I usually put them in the vegetable category, but it sure helps up the protein when I am low. Deb
