Three Things

Monday, July 27, 2009

Ok, so it's been awhile, but I've been working through some things that have put me in a really good place lately. So here we go!

Today I'm grateful for...
1) Cooking - I have started making modifications to favorite creations to make them healthier, and the more I cook, the easier it is to eat right and still be satisfied.

2) The LGBT community - I stumbled upon an awesome blog last week, and it's helping me work through some things. I just love how thoughtful a lot of queer writers are, as there isn't much support for queer relationships. It makes for a bit more self-reflection, IMO.

3)Bad food days - So I had a bad food day emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon (yes, all these things) , and I tracked it, and it wound up not being so awful! Yay for the sparkpeople tracker!

Three Things

I'm posting really early today...probably because the weather is horrible, and it's putting me in a funky mood. So in an effort to bring a little sunshine back into my day, here are three things I'm grateful for:

1) Pita chips...they go really well with the hummus I mentioned awhile back
2) Yoga - the perfect meditative activity on a day like today
3) Rain Boots - they keep me dry!!

So the three things I am grateful for today:

1) The "In the Heights" soundtrack - there's no better listening on a summer day
2) Quick dinners! Took me 10 minutes to make dinner today. :-)
3) New sheets - just got 450 thread count sheets from Target! Yes!

Anyone else grateful today?

LOL, I love good, clean, sheets too (and don't mind quick dinners). Don't know "In the Heights," will have to check it out. I take it you saw the show? I haven't heard of it! emoticon

Three things again...missed yesterday, and I think the day before. Oh well. Making progress.

So today I'm grateful for:

1) The part-time home-based business that I'm growing. Extra income and flexible hours. It's also going to be a great networking and resume-building opportunity.

2) Schezuan style tofu. Delicious!

3) An empty apartment - my roommate is on vacation for a few days, and I love being by myself. I'm so much more productive alone.

Three Things

Monday, June 01, 2009

So I am starting my blog out as a way to improve my mood and, in turn, help me in my weight loss efforts. There are so many times where a task feels like too great of an effort, and negative thinking means you're defeated before you even attempt to take something on. My goal is to identify three things I'm grateful for every day. Greater optimism = greater motivation. Hopefully anyone who stumbles upon this will be able to add what they're grateful for!

I am grateful for:

1) My girlfriend - who loves me even though I'm crazy
2) Sabra Sun Dried Tomato Hummus - Have you ever had it?? Delicious!
3) The way my cats wake me up in the morning - it makes me laugh, which is the best way to start the day!
