I have FINALLY broken a barrier that seemed to last forever. For the longest time I bounced from around 162-154. 154 was the lowest I had been in 5 years. The day I joined SP I weighed 158. I bounced back to 160 the next day. I am a extreme daily weight fluctuater (is that even a word?) This morning I was 148.4!!!!!!! I cannot believe it. When I hit 149.8 last week I was estatic, but I was waiting for the climb back into the 150's before I decided to celebrate. I think that 2 pounds below is reason to celebrate. It looks like I have finally found the answer. OK -- so I've always known the answer, I mean I majored in Kinesiology for goodness sake! It's more like I have finally started applying the answer. The nutrition tracker has been my saving grace in the trip toward weight loss. When I've tried to cut calories in the past I would think I was doing a good job. Seeing my eating habits calculated for me has been a tremendous help. I still have a ways to go, but I am energized and exited about my progress. Thank you Spark People!

Fruits and veggies

So the challenge this week is to get as many servings of fruits and vegetables as I can. I like most things, but there are somethings I shy away from. I like to cook with peppers for example, but I cannot bring myself to eat one raw. I am going to try eggplant -- never had it, probably won't like it, but what the heck! Being from the south, I love squash -- if it's fried. LOL So, I am going to try and cook it in some new ways. (I'll probably end up eating it oven fried though :) Anyways -- wish me luck, maybe I'll find a new vegetable that I just can't live without!

  How did you like the eggplant? It's my absolute favourite. Grilled in the oven tastes great (to me), and you can also try slicing the eggplant, dipping it in flour, and frying in a pan with just a tbsp or so of oil or butter. I know this adds calories, but that way it becomes a great meat substitute. Good luck on your veggie challenge!

Good choices

I did well today. My hubby wanted to eat out and I convinced him to go to Applebee's. I was able to order the Steak and Portabellos meal and get a desert for under 600 calories. That's higher than I normally go but I consider it a healthy splurge. I feel really good about it. Applebee's has some great choices on their Weight Watchers menu. I will most certainly go again.

So far I haven't done much of anything today. I cleaned and mopped the kitchen, folded a few clothes and gave the kids a bath, but that's about it activity wise. I plan on doing the treadmill after the kids go to bed, it's impossible to do while they are awake. I would do a step or YBB DVD, but the player is broken -- I think that has a lot to do with my activity stall. I had really gotten into the videos and boom -- broken player. Hopefully we will get it fixed tomorrow. I'm looking forward to getting back into my workout routine.

The only thing on my mind right now is a slice of pizza. I don't want just cheese either! I want pepperoni, mushrooms and pineapple. Too many calories though so I guess I'll have myself a sandwich. Oh well.

    have you made your own before? Use either english muffins, or flat out bread. Use no salt tomato sauce and a few pizza seasonings, top with a little bit of cheese, and your toppings. Use Turkey pepperoni, They are less calories, less grease, and even spicer than the normal ones. Bake in oven for a bit and enjoy. A bit less calories.

congrats on the size 8s. And not even the stretchies huh?

That is so wonderful. What a great feeling to be in the single digits again. That is one of my first goals. I have all these great size 8s in my closet just waiting to be worn. I can't wait to get there.

How does it feel? I know it is worth it, isn't it? Just think of all of the slices of pizza you sacrificed for those 8s.
