Yard work part two

Sunday, March 18, 2012

Well, the yard really needed the attention. It took me five hours to complete everything. I would be working on one thing and see something else that needed doing. Well, I still got in a good hard hour ride in the neighborhood, so all is well.

There are alot of things I miss about having a house. Yardwork is not one of those.

Have to catch up with our yard too. Also to decide if we're going to plant another veggie garden...!

My day was similar. However, mine started with a bike ride and was followed by several hours of yard work. Luckily, my wife and son were out there with me. We cleaned up the 1+ acres of back yard and burned some branches. Afterwards, a nice family dinner outside...PRICELESS.

I'd go with the biking. That's why my yard looks the way it does!

New PR for the week

Saturday, March 17, 2012

When I started the bicycle workout in the book, Ride Your Way Lean, I had an average pace for the week of 14.6 mph. This Saturday will wrap up the eleventh week of a fifteen week program designed to help me lose weight and ride faster. I weighed in this morning at 284. That is down from 305 on Jan 1. I will finish this week with an average pace of over 16 mph. I am so psyched about that. It will be fun to see just how much faster I will get as the weight continues to come off.

That's pretty neat. The founder and philosophical guru of my cycling says that the most effective way to get faster is to lose weight. Reading about your progress is quite inspiring. emoticon

New PR today

Friday, March 16, 2012

I felt really strong this morning while riding into work. I had one 15 minute interval of 17-18 mph and four 1.5 minute intervals at 19-20 mph scheduled. It turned into a single 22 minute interval at 18-20 mph. I had an average pace of 17.6 which included stoplights and the parking lot at work. The interval training is really paying off.

Welcome back Spring!!

Wednesday, March 14, 2012

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome back an old friend, Spring!! Spring and I go way back. All the way back to 1963. We have had an annual get together every year since. Sometimes Spring is running a little late, however sometimes Spring is able to get here early. Either way, it is always a blessing to have Spring arrive and I look forward to our reunion each year. Welcome back Spring, let's party!
