Prayers, PLEASE

Tuesday, August 19, 2014

I don't know exactly where to start, but, here goes. My name is Carol, I live in West Virginia. I have 2 sons, grown 39, and 41, who live in North Carolina. I had 3 sons, 24 years ago, my oldest who was 18 at the time, had a massive heart attack and passed away. I thought there was nothing in the world that could ever hurt me that much ever again. I was wrong. Yesterday my 41 year old calls, he is crying, mom, I went to the Dr. I have throat cancer, they are going to operate on Monday. I will be leaving Sat. to be with my son. Please keep him in your prayers. And pray to give me the strenght to help him thru this.

Your son is on my prayer list. Dear Lord, guide the hands and thoughts of the doctors as they treat Carols son for his cancer. We pray in Jesus name. Amen

As a two time cancer survivor...don't listen to the statistics that the doctors share.

Stressed

Thursday, August 07, 2014

I have 2 shih tzu dogs. One is 14 (the mother), the other is 12 (her son). Our 12 year old is in the process of passing away and this is sooo painful to watch. My husband and I are struggling to decide if we should have a vet help him leave our world. We know he is a dog, but when you have them for 12 years, they are one of the kids. Especially after your own children are raised and on their own. It's going to be a long night.

my mom had 2 and at 14 yrs they were ready and she had to put them to sleep. mom is 78 yrs old was 77 when she had to put them to sleep. All of us kids had got one of them for her and she was only weeks old. my mom has never been the same since putting them to sleep. she does have 2 other dogs that she loves and takes care of. labs that were strays and just showed up on her land in the country. mom takes them on and make sure there fixed and gets everything they need from vet care. she puts everything she has into her fur babies. FOR some reason she has never gotten over losing the 2 shih tzu . she has lost other dogs but these shih tzu took everything out of her. Prayers for you on the choice you will face. emoticon

You and your family have been a blessing in this little furbabies life. Because of you , he has known a lifetime of love and security. He has been living with family. I know it is a painful decision but, if he is suffering, you can give him one more gift. The gift of a pain free passing in your arms. You cannot change the outcome. You are losing a member of your family but...you can change how this end comes about for him.

I know it hurts so much. I had to let my Sadie Rose Stinkweed go this Summer. She had cancer. Last year, I had to put my horse of 28 years down. This Fall, I will be saying goodbye to my 17 year old cat Spade. The Vet said it is time for her. Its a heartbreaker but easier for our furbabies.

Pets ARE family too. My condolences to you for having to make a decision like this.

Our furry babies depend on us completely. We have two right now but prior to these we had one dog for 13 years. It was hard to make the decision but he was suffering terribly. He had liver cancer and couldn't keep food down at the end. That's when we knew it was time.
I know the loss is painful and the decision hard. Be easy on yourselves and make your choice from love.

Busy Day

Tuesday, July 22, 2014

Took my 75 yr old mother in law shopping. We went to several stores. I did enjoy the day.Plus I walked for close to 3 hours. Then when I did get home had to park at the top of the hill.Carried down gallons of drinking water and hubby's 2 liters of diet cola, along with several bags of groceries. I think I made 4 or 5 trips up and down that hill. So, I do think I got quite a workout today. Only downside is I missed lunch.

Staying On Track

Sunday, July 20, 2014

I am usually a stress eater. I am really trying hard. So far so good. But I must say the last few months have not been kind. Yesterday morning I was on top of the world, weighed in and had lost 7.5 pounds for the week. Then in the afternoon you get one of those phone calls you just dread. Hubby's nephew had passed away that morning. He was 24, don't know why yet. His father, hubby's brother passed away in March from cancer. I lost a sister in May from a stroke. Enough already! I guess I just needed to vent a little. I hope all of you understand.

Power, Wonderful Power

Thursday, July 10, 2014

(Electric) I mean. Tues. around 4pm our lights went out. Storm had just blown thru the area. 75,000 people in the state of WV without power. i didn't have internet so i couldn't check sparkpeople. (Bummer) So I did get to clean out the refrigerator and upright freezer, give them a good scrub. Took all that stuff to the neighbor, who had room for it and a generator. Played card games with the hubby. Had candlelit dinners, (sandwiches). Got to read a book, I had been wanting to read. It was very relaxing. Power came back on today, Thurs. 4 pm. Nice to get back online and have AIR conditioning!!!!!!!!! Now I can log what I am eating.
