Some exercising can be a problem

Wednesday, May 01, 2013

Today one of my teams started May challenge. For this I chose to do the squats and also am trying to do reverse crunches (challenge also has a choice for crunches or squats). Now those reverse crunches can be a problem. You see, I have a dog, Cassie. Cassie loves people. Those reverse crunches are just too tempting for her since I am on the floor. So she just couldn't resist to get her nose in my face and ears. I did get some reverse crunches done, but I wasn't exactly in the right position because I kept having to fight her off. Ah, well, that is the fun of having a dog. If she hadn't been right there, the cat would have been.

That's hilarious!! emoticon Reminds me why I can't do too much in my home either since the cats follow me around and get in the way, and chase my toes. emoticon Aren't our pets wonderful! Have a great weekend and thanks for the smile. Love, Chelsea emoticon

Going downtown can sure be an adventure

Wednesday, April 24, 2013

I had to go downtown today and sure had a time getting there and back. I took the amount of money I needed for a round trip ticket. But I couldn't get the ticket machine to work so tried another one. The second one turned out to be for parking, not the bus/light rail ticket. I had enough to get a one way ticket and went and got on the first train that came along. Wrong train. At least I could get the free shuttle from either one, so I got to see some scenery I haven't seen in years and since they have changed a lot of things. Then I had to walk south to get to where I was going but had the wrong address, so was confused trying to find the place. I had trouble finding the room I needed to get to, too. What a comedy of errors.

On the way back, I knew where I needed to end up, but I needed to get some money to get the return ticket, so had to find a bank. Of course, I had passed the kind I needed and had to go back a ways. I finally got to the return light rail station and had learned a lesson and made sure I got the right train this time.

With all that running around I did manage to get some exercise. Now for some sleep.

Those days are much better in retrospect, and sometimes not so much fun when you actually are going through them... glad you got the exercise, though!

I'm glad you were able to see the up side of things, sometimes all it takes to turn a bad day around is a good attitude.

April 21 Walk in the Park

Sunday, April 21, 2013

It was a really nice, sunny, warm day today after a week of cold. Cassie and I stopped at the park on the way home from church today. We walked the mile around the park. On one side I noticed that there is a pull-up place. Now, I've never been able to do pull-ups, even when I weighed 110, so I knew I couldn't now, but it was something different to do. I thought maybe just pulling on there might be some strength training for my arms. So I did a few pulls on it. Then we continued around to where there is something for stretching and I did a couple stretches on it. I was surprised that I could reach my right foot up and lean forward with no problem once it was up there (bent knee). That was nice to find out.

This morning I got a text from my friend that her son was going home from the hospital today. He had surgery to remove a tumor from his brain just Friday afternoon. Praise the Lord for his quick recovery.

I am so glad your friend's son is doing well from the surgery. One of my dear friends, her best friend, had surgery last Friday to remove a cancerous brain tumor. It is hard for everyone, including friends. God bless you. emoticon

April 7, nice day

Sunday, April 07, 2013

Today my friend took me out to celebrate my BD a little early. We went to lunch at Applebees after church and I was mostly good there. I got chicken and portabella mushrooms (one of the under 550 dishes) and ate a little less than half. Hopefully that left room for the small Frosty she got me at Wendys a little later. Then we went out to Bennett to see Fancy. It has been so long since I have been able to go see her since I don't have money for gas since my truck had problems. Fancy, of course, decided to play tag as she does very often. So I ended up doing that with her for about an hour. She just likes to play. I finally got her a little grain and was able to catch her. I wanted to get some of that long hair off her and the mats she is getting while she sheds. This was her first winter outside and she has hair about 2 1/2 inches long.

After grooming Fancy for quite a while, we came back into town and went to Home Depot where my friend bought me dirt for my garden and a pack of seeds (I already have several packs of seeds, but wanted some thin growing carrots).

Now I am home and eating the rest of my lunch and watching the ACM awards. I don't usually watch award shows, but heck, there isn't anything else on that I like. So Cassie, Orzo and I are having a quiet evening at home.

The Passion Play 2013

Saturday, March 30, 2013

Tonight my friend and I went to The Passion Play. This was my 3rd year to see it. They put on a really good play each year. It is all volunteers from several churches in the area. Every time I cry when they whip Jesus and crucify him. Tonight, though, I couldn't stop crying. I cried even when Jesus showed up after rising from the dead and leaving the tomb. I cried all during the song "He's Alive." I cried when Jesus was ascending to heaven. And I cried when they had the call to the altar. Well, I've not been embarrased to know Jesus or be a Christian, but have been to go up in front of everyone and admit I hadn't gone up to the altar before. This time, though, I went up there. And I was still crying when I went up and was standing there. I think I finally quit when I got back to my seat. I have never had that happen before. Though I have always believed in Jesus Christ, I think that Easter will mean more to me this year for some reason.

I hope that everyone has a blessed Easter.

You probably had lots of feelings about your life in general that you hadn't processed or allowed yourself to feel and watching the play brought it all up. I am so glad it was a healing experience for you. Have a wonderful week! Love, Chelsea emoticon

I do understand as it is with sadness that Christ died to save us from sin. It is a happy cry because He loved us and God gave His only Son for us. What a sacrifice! We cry together! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
