End of week review

Sunday, April 20, 2014

Normally I post my walking and calorie successes on Sundays. But today I want to share some of what I am thankful for right now.

God is love: The longer I live the more I am assured that God's perfect love is the answer to all of the world's woes.

My husband who encourages, supports, and loves me. He is my best friend and confident.

Obamacare: Without it my son would not have been able to afford insurance and the doctor who is treating him and very well saving his life so he can finish raising his children and contributing his talents to this world.

Two feet that can still carry me a distance that at 65 I thought only young ones could do it.

The beauty of this world I live in.

Two ears that can still hear the beautiful music.

If you haven't heard this I've added the link to the Easter Version of Hallelujah

God bless

    Happy Easter!

And thank you for reminding us to take the time to appreciate everything we do have, instead of always yearning for what we don't.

Walking

Thursday, April 17, 2014

Kind of been slacking on my blogs lately. I went to the doc and wasn't thrilled with my test results. Anyway, I do have the green light to walk as much as I want so Sis and I walked 10 miles today in 3 hours and 15 minutes. Not bad for an overweight 65 year old. LOL

I am back in Onderland and will do what the doc tells me. I'm not sick but even with all the life style changes I'm officially diabetic and on meds. Could be worse and as my husband says it could be really bad if I hadn't made some big changes already.

Your husband is correct (and sounds 100% supportive). You ARE the change you're seeking. It will happen and you'll gain the ultimate reward for all of your hard work!

10K plus!

Thursday, April 10, 2014

My sis called today to invite me for a walk. We covered well over the 6.2 for a 10K which is one of my goals. We actually went 7.9 miles in 2 hours and 45 minutes. I am really pumped.

Quilt top

Wednesday, April 09, 2014

I finished the top for the stripped quilt I made out of scraps. It amazed me to watch a pattern emerge from the random scraps.

To make this quilt I sew 1,660 inches of 2.5 inch material together. I then folded the strip in have and sewed it together. (830) inches. Then I folded this in half and repeated until the finished quilt which is approx 54 x 62. I'll add a strip around the outside and then bind it. EZ Peasy

April 1

Tuesday, April 01, 2014

For many April 1 is April Fool's Day but not for me. Today is the anniversary of the most amazing event in my history. Yup, my little boy was born on this day. He is all grown up with children of his own but he is still my little miracle. Happy Birthday Son! emoticon

    Happy Birthday to your Son!

Funny how they are all grown up now, and we still dote on them and worry about them as much as we did when they were little.

I thought I was going to have an April Fool's Day baby, but my second daughter arrived March 31 -- 43 years ago!
