Thank you everyone for your helpful suggestions, prayers and good thoughts.
Today has been somewhat better although I've had a headache most of the day.
Last night was a really good night's sleep. Without AC, things have been a little stifling, but not too bad. The AC company will get the part Monday and be out Tuesday to fix it. I'm sure we'll be fine until then. I ate a lot better today, but had to about force myself to do so. Bob made me a doctor's appointment and i'm sure he told me when because i remember writing down, but i can't remember when or where i put the paper!! i think that is acceptable forgetfulness, yes?
The best news of the day was the Gators won their game. They haven't lost yet. They sure do "scare" me though because they usually let the score be so close in the first half. Also today for the first time this season, the other team scored on them in the second half. Their opponent was Vanderbilt.
Blessings to you all and enjoy the rest of the weekend. Thank y'all again.
Peace, Love, and Hope for the cure!

This hasn't been a very good day today. I only got some walking in place and stretching done today before the worker from Elder Care arrived. There is tons of help should i qualify. A lot depends on what my doctor says and how our state government changes laws about qualifications and doesn't cut any of the programs. He also said not to be mean or anything, but we'd be better off if we were divorced. Not possible in any way shape or form. He said live together as we are only divorced. NO!!!!!
But I've been so tired, I can barely stay awake. Not only that, but it has been difficult to walk without pinkie and my feet are so swollen i couldn't get one pair of my sandals on today. When I was counting backwards from 20 to 1, Bob said i left out 15 and 11. So I guess I'm having some forgetful issues, too. I get so darn frustrated when I try to talk and can't remember the names of things or mix up the words. But the very worse is when i can't remember what to do. Bob had to come and help me with shampooing my hair this morning because I knew something was in my hair, but I wasn't sure what or how to get it out. He told me it was shampoo and finished up getting it out with the shower sprayer and having me lean forward a bit. He also helped as he normally does in getting me out of the tub. Then I seemed to be fine. I could do everything else in my routine. Stuff like that can scare me sometimes though. That's why the big *sigh* as the title.
I must apologize to all of you my buds, for not having a more positive message for you. I sure hope tomorrow is a better day. I hope I can follow my own advice. I sure could use some extra prayers, good thoughts, light, whatever it is you honor. I thank all of you for that.
Have a fantastic weekend everyone. I love all of you.
Peace, love, and hope for the cure.
My hawk that lives in my neighborhood. So far he hasn't bothered the little dogs, but he has come on our front walk. He'll sometimes leave me beautiful feathers. at the end of the carport.

I have had some requests from Spark Buds to blog about National Novel Writing Month aka NaNoWriMo aka NaNo. So here we go. This is the one.
If you are someone who has always said, "someday I'm going to write the book I know is in me." Then NaNo is for you! The program starts November 1st every year and ends November 30th. During that time in order to win, you must write 50K plus words. What does a winner get? A certificate that you completed your novel. Yep, that's it. However, you should now have either your story written or at least a good portion of it. That should bring you a lot of satisfaction to know you actually CAN do this. I also enjoy the writing as the characters rather take over and write the story of what they want and not the way I planned!! You may write in any genre you want be it YA, Romance, Sci-Fi, main stream fiction, historical fiction, etc. The only thing you must watch is if you are writing erotica not to leave any of the passages on your profile or in the forums as there are a lot of young people who take part as there are a lot of people it might offend. There have quite a few NaNo's who have had their novel published. They edit, revise, add, remove, edit it again and then have it published. At the web site where you must sign on to get your certificate, there is a store where you can buy t-shirts, mugs, stickers, etc. to show your pride.
When you sign up at their site, you can also pick regions to follow and decide which one will be your home one. I would suggest you decide to use one closest to you. Why? There are people called ML (Municipal Liaison) between the site and the writers in their area. There are kickoff parties so everyone can meet each other, write-ins planned, a few goodies for everyone, and TGIO (Thank Goodness It's Over) parties to celebrate no matter if you are a winner or only got a little done.
The web site for them is: www.nanowrimo.org/
There is also a NaNo team here on Spark people!: www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/g
Back in 2002, Bob was working at a call center in Palatka for MSN support. His shift was from 5PM to 10PM so he was away from 4PM until 11PM. When an online writer friend of mine mentioned she had participate the year before and how it got her to sit down and really write and how much she enjoyed it, i thought i would try it. I signed up and haven't looked back! This will be my tenth year. I would write while Bob was at work. I made a big chart of how many words I wrote each day and how many I had left. I was very fortunate and only had one time when i sat down to write and there was nothing. it just wouldn't come!! I opened a new file and wrote something else and didn't go back to my book until the next day. it worked! I had no more problems.
That year, the name of my novel was Coyote Carmel with Chocolate Sauce. At the time my favorite ice cream had a similar name. It was about a police officer who has been shot and is in surgery. His wife is in the waiting room thinking back over how they met, dated, got engaged, married, etc. As fellow officers came in to get info about him and tell her they had a lot of leads on who the shooter was, she greeted them gracefully and little by little she finds out what happened and thought she knew who did it. I have it saved to disk and Bob made a cover for it! Having been in law enforcement, I had a lot of information and experience to draw from.
The second one i did was a YA called Hot Dish Summer. I ended every chapter with a recipe for a "hot dish". That is what they call casseroles in parts of MN where Bob was raised. A lot of the recipes were from his mom's recipe box. The story was about a girl ready to enter high school who stays with her grandmother, great grandmother, and an aunt on a lake in northern MN. I love cooking and scrapbooking, so i had her grandmother and aunt teaching her how to cook these recipes at the end of the chapter. Her grandmother was teaching her how to scrapbook. This was on a coded web page on our domain and Bob didn't see it when saving all our pages when our provider went out of business. So far i haven't been able to find it in any of my files. I feel it must have been lost when I got a new computer. There was a lot of humor in it about the romance of the great grandmother with a neighbor. But there was also a mystery involved. Bob made a cover for this one, too.
That same year I became ML for the St Augustine area.
In 2004 the book was called Watercolored Yesterdays. I have the entire story in file. It is a mainstream fiction. It is about a woman on her way home from work and hears on the radio that the man who had been a DJ when she was a teen had died. He had been a family friend and her mentor. I tried first person for this one. Bob did another cover:
I think you get the idea of how it can work. In 2006 I became ML for my county. It was much easier than driving all the way to St Augustine and back every week. It has been a challenge building a new region. But, I have loved every moment of writing and being an ML. I also did some forum monitoring, too, but let that go as I knew if I continued all of that in November, i'd never get my writing done. The past two years aren't that good. In 2010 is when i had the two surgeries, and last November I spent about 1/2 of the month in the hospital with the poisoning episode.
Bob joined the program in 2006. He has been writing a series about an architect and his friend who is a forensic scientist. The two of them solve mysteries together. They are really good, too.
so that is the basic outlook for NaNo. In the SP team one of the employees is a member and can probably answer questions for you. But i will be happy to help you as much as I can.
Everyone enjoy the rest of your weekend. Did I tell you the Gators won? No Hey everyone, the Gators won!!!
Peace, Love, and Hope for the Cure.

How my September turned out for the goals I made. I haven't peeked so telling you will also be letting me know how successful I've been. I hope I didn't set myself for failure when i made them!!
For Spark People:
1. Change my target weight from 120 to 125.
I did change this and got up to 122 as of Monday when I saw my chemo oncologist for a checkup, which was very good, BTW!!
2. Change the number of daily calories from 1200 to 1600; to 1600 to 2000
I did this too. It has been difficult to eat enough, but i did not go below or over my set amounts!
3. Try to visit more teams each day and huddle and answer on one thread.
I wasn't so good at keeping up with this, but i did do my best!
4. Try to visit more of friends each day and comment or give them goodies.
I did a lot better with this. I feel it was accomplished!!
5. Try to answer my mail better than I have.
Here I fell down once more. As much as i try, i can't seem to get through it all each day.
6. Try to blog more and get some thoughts and topics in order.
When I joined the September blog challenge I did accomplish this.
1. Write at least an hour a day.
I did get this done. Often it was more like 2 hours a day. Plus I managed to come up with some new ideas for my November novel!!
2. Journal at least 5 times a week and in my grateful journal daily. Make it 3 things each day rather than the 5 I have been doing.
This was easy to accomplish, but I haven't started October very well!!
3. Try to compliment everyone when I meet them for the day.
This was another one that was easy to do. When I saw the nurses at various appointments and told them how nice they looked or how much I loved a piece of their jewellery or hairdo, I saw lots of smiles returned!!
4. Get caught up with my laundry.
Eh!!!! i did some but ended up having even lots more! I have added it to my october goals once more.
5. Work harder to follow my doctors' orders.
This I have done. I even got my blood draw done this past week.
6. SMILE!!!! As Mother Theresa said, we never know the good that will happen from a single smile.
I try every day to accomplish this, whether I want to or not. I have gotten a lot of comments from most people how wonderful my attitude is because of smiling. All my doctors say doing so has made my recovery as easy as it has.
My hope would be that any of my Spark Buds who have set their own goals have reached most of them and feel really good about themselves. There is so much love on this site to go around our members several times!! Isn't it great that so many think we are worth it? i guess i didn't really believe it or feel it until all of the comments when Bob would update my condition from treatments and the poisoning episode.
Everyone have a wonderful Wednesday. Today it's Bob's turn to go to see his doctor at the VA!! It's so nice for it not to be me for a change!!
Love, Peace, and Hope for the cure!
