Yay! 9 lbs down!

Well, it's working - I have lost 9 lbs in one week. It went kinda like this:

Day 1: 4 lbs lost
Day 2: 2 lbs lost
Day 3: 2 lbs lost
Day 4: Nothing
Day 5: Nothing
Day 6: Nothing
Day 7: 1 lb lost

I hope this keeps going. Only 42 lbs left until I reach my goal!

I couldn't get cake and frosting off my mind so I Googled recipes and have now made my first sugar free mini cupcakes with sugar free frosting. They come in around 50 cals each but they really are good.
The case is sugar free cake mix with diet 7-up and the frosting is sugar free vanilla pudding, fat free cool whip and fat free cream cheese.

I think they are pretty good.

    Sounds good. I've tried the sugarfree cake mixes they are pretty good The sugarfree frosting tastes good but it doesn't spread worth a darn. I ended up just kind of blobbing it on so the cake wasn't totally ruined. Your frosting sounds good I may have to try it. Sometimes you just gotta have treat.

I know it's not healthy but it's working

Well, I decided to go extreme and cut my calories to 500 a day or less. I know this is not healthy but I needed a good jumpstart to losing my weight this time. I only plan to do this for a few days. I have lost 6 lbs in 2 days which is amazing - that just tells you that I really needed to do something.

I am doing this more for discipline than anything. Once I get my body and mind to work with better portion control, and not be hungry for sweets all the time, I should be able to go back to a normal calorie count.

    Thanks everyone for your comments and concern. It's not forever, just enough to let my body know I mean business and that it's not going to be fed everytime there is a little bit of hunger. I am getting plenty of food (3 meals and 3 snacks) everyday just not eating as much as before or as bad.

    It isn't healthy, but maybe if you address it as a short term fast, you will find it good just to get your body detoxed and ready to eat better. Journal on it, that can't hurt either!

    That is kind of the same principle of calorie cycling. Usually it is 500, 1,000, stacked for a few days, and then 1,500 calories and back down again. It can help to confuse your body into burning fat.

The beginning of a new day

Here I am - gaining and gaining once again. I have decided that I am going to have to take control of my life and my weight again. I had lost 20 lbs by counting calories on SparkPeople.com 4 years ago. I lost another 20 on the Atkins diet. I did so well until Christmas 2011 when I had my family here and went totally off the wall. I have now gained back 25 of the 40 that I lost (in only 8 months).
I will get control and stop the insane eating habits.
I will lose this 25 and more.
I only have 2 pairs of pants left that fit and all my shirts show the rolls.
I WILL take control again!

It's been two years since I used this site - can't believe it!
I tried the Atkins diet and did pretty good until last year's holidays - once I got off track, I couldn't seem to get back on. I gained 20 lbs in the past 8 months and I can sure feel it.
I got tired of eating the same old stuff and really missed bread, so when I went off the diet, I really blew it.
I am now back to SparPeople and looking to use it to track everything I eat and do, I want to see if I can eat like a normal person and get rid of the lbs. I gained along with a few more.
