Merry Christmas! Some news and big changes from me!

Hope you are all ready for Christmas. I finished up last night. That's about as last minute as i've been in a very long time. I don't like that feeling.

I've been very MIA here that past couple months. For good reason! I'm pregnant! finally! I've been wanting a baby for so long. but money and job issues have kept us from trying. DH finally decided it was time. I thought it would take a lot longer to conceive than it did. boy was i surprised when the stick showed positive!

i have researched pregnancy and weight loss and have found some very informative websites and articles. i am no where near the shape i want to be in to have a baby. but i have realized getting pregnant and having a baby were the motivation i needed to change my life for the better. wish i had known this 5 years ago! anyway, i have read that if you are overweight when you get pregnant losing a few lbs or not gaining during the pregnancy were perfectly fine and will benefit the baby. i've been working on eating healthier, which is not easy during the holidays, and i've kept my weight fluctuating between 224 and 228. so i'm happy with that so far. i'm kind of scared to work out. i've heard different views on what you can or cannot do and what you should and should not do. i've been doing a lot of walk away the pounds videos.

i probably won't be as active in sp since i won't be doing challenges and stuff. but i'm certainly going to stay active here with tracking food and activity.

i'm very excited about this new chapter in my life and can't wait to be a fit, active mommy! thank you all so much for being a part of this journey.

Wonderful news! I just became a grandmother for the first time and my daughter-in-law spent a lot of time walking throughout her pregnancy--both as exercise and also because she likes to walk.

progress pic

i was just looking at pics of me and decided i need to do a progress pic cause i feel different, but don't really look different in pics. the following pic shows me in december, when i decided to take monthly progress pics of me to see how i changed throughout the year. i've only actually done this about 4 times. ho-hum. anyway, the other pic is from tonight. 13 lbs lost and a couple sizes gone.
generally when i do these progress pics ii wear the same outfit for each pic and do a bunch of angles. but this time, being that it's 9:30 pm, i just put on the clothes and took the one. don't pay attention to my face. i was concentrating on being in the right spot and standing correctly. lol! anyway, my legs are looking good! i'm curious to see what december 2011 will look like!

an update and progress report

hello fellow sparkers! it's been awhile since i've posted a blog so i figure i better let you all know where i stand and what's been going on.

i'm still super busy at work. hence the lack of updating. i don't have a computer at work, so i don't get to update and goof around like my old job "allowed". i'm very active at work, on my feet almost all day. so lots of activity!

i'm still doing my lunchtime walks. this is getting difficult with the weather. i was only able to get one in last week!

the bus route has changed so a couple days a week i get to work with an hour to spare in the mornings. when the weather is nice i go for a brisk 3 mile walk. i'm loving it! though the weather will take that one away too. :(

the scale isn't budging much, but my clothes are! i'm finally out of the plus size in pants! though tops are still an issue. lame. i bought a pair of jeans the other day that were 15! one size smaller than my "skinny" jeans.

i'm working on some new goals. as mentioned above, i am still in plus size tops. most of this is due to belly fat. i'm working on not drinking soda and alcohol as these are huge contributors to my issues. even though it's diet soda.

another goal is working out in the morning. i've been walking almost daily at lunch, but the weather will soon be a huge factor. so i need to get up and workout before work. not much luck with that.

i've been eating fairly well. i'm hoping to be caught up with money by the end of the month so i'll have a bit more reserved for better groceries.

i've been very good about not making goals because for awhile they were having a reverse effect on me. i'm hoping to try again in november with something easy to get me back in the groove. when i get stressed i tend to sabotage everything.

my first green monster!

broke down yesterday and used the credit card to buy groceries for the next two weeks. it was either that or survive on top ramen and who knows what. i made a menu for two weeks and bought only what was on my list and made good choices.

i'm trying out new breakfasts cause i get too hungry before lunch at work and i don't have enough time to snack. i decided to try out a green monster. if you don't know what this is, it's a smoothie made with tons of spinach and then other stuff that you can add. www.greenmonstermovement.com check out the website to learn more and try different recipes. it may sound gross, but it isn't. tasted mostly like bananas. i'm going to try the blueberry version tomorrow. i had two peaches at 10, cause i was starting to get hungry and the peaches were getting too ripe. i didn't work today, so tomorrow will be the real test, but i'm confident this will work out for me. though i'm going to add a whole wheat english muffin to breakfast tomorrow since i'll be eating earlier and having lunch later.





the frothiness on top kind of bothered me, so i would prefer a straw, but what do you do?

i'm working on following weight watchers again. it's tough when you can't afford the food, but i think i'm going to be okay for now. luckily the new system has 0 point values for most fruits and veggies, that so bothered me on the old version. the green monster really helps since the milk is the only point value.

with that in mind i made a huge salad for lunch with some left over pork ribs i had from last night. it was soooo good! blue cheese and a parmesan dressing made it really tasty!



i don't normally take pics of my food, but since i wanted one of the green monster and the camera was still there at lunch i figured what the heck.

i'm feeling really good right now and i hope this feeling can last so i can keep this motivation going. i'm going to conquer fall and winter and look amazing come spring!

    You can try keeping some almonds at your desk to snack on, just make sure you don't eat over an ounce. You salad looks yummy!
