I was walking home from work the other day, it was in the nineties, I was tired because we are very busy and I started at 4.30 in the morning. I was becoming dehydrated, I felt it, so I thought I would go in to this fast food place just for a drink. The cars were all down one side of the building waiting for their orders so I decided to enter by the other side. I was walking along and I did not realize that there was a dip in the sidewalk, down I went, flat on my face. I felt so stupid but luckily no-one was there to see this event! I picked myself up, dusted myself off and went in for a drink.
When I returned to the hotel, I assessed the damage. My right knee is completely black and blue and hurts, my left elbow is only grazed and I think I done something to my little finger on my left hand, because that night, a pain shooting through it woke me up.
Fortunately I have no serious injury, just my pride, but my body still aches from the fall. I must have given it a good shaking when I went down. I am too old now to pull stunts like this!!!!!lol

Ouch is right! I was prepared to read more of a sore "ouch", so I'm sorry it's from a fall. It sounds like something I would do, too. Hope you heal fast!

Now I know I can become easily confused, but this is stupid. I came here to NM to work on Wednesday, the time is 2 hours behind NC where I live. OK. But now, we have to put the clocks forward an hour, I just don't know what the time is now, my internal clock is way off!!! lol

Hurray!Got them back!

Wednesday, January 05, 2011

Today I opened my Hotmail box, and there they were! My notifications of posts! lol. For two days I had to do it the old fashioned way and go into each team to see what was posted and I am sure that I missed some. I had tried to retrieve them through all the recommended suggestions but to no avail.
I know SparkPeople had problems the other day but it was reported that Hotmail had lost a great many emails so I guess that this was the problem. Receiving notifications saves so much time, I think maybe we are spoiled!

I'm careful bout how many notifications I sign up for. too many, and I get overwhelmed and ignore them all. not enough, and I slack on checking in. I do set up for more notifications where I'm team leader, of course.

yeah, Spark does keep us rightly spoiled!

Last Day of the Year!

Friday, December 31, 2010

It is 31st December 2010. In Scotland we use New Years Eve (Hogmanay we call it) to refelect on the past year, where we have succeeded and where we have not. I dont like using the word failed!
So my Blessings, I have a lovely family who are good to me, I have my health, it was sheer joy to see my oldest son marry a lovely girl, I have my own home what else do you need, and for these I am truly thankful.
But so many other things have happened this year, that I will be glad to see the end of it. One of the worst was seeing my youngest son being continually hurt so much by his ex wife. I am afraid I am one of those mothers that when any of your children are hurt, you hurt as well!
So I am going to welcome 2011 with open arms and pray that God will keep us all in his heart!
Happy New year everybody!

I agree that seeing our children hurt under any circumstances is terrible. Happy New Year!

Yes, a mother hurts when their children hurt, no matter the child's age or the reason for the hurt. Whether the hurting is caused by choices the child makes or by choices others make, it still breaks a mother's heart. One of the best pastors I ever had used to say, "It is not what others do to us, but how we react that counts." Wishing peace, love and happiness along with good health and enough to meet our daily living needs for you, your family and friends in 2011.

It was my seven times great grandfather who came across the pond (such a pond!) so I didn't know today was called Hogmany. I'll make a note of it where I keep my tartans, my single malts and other things Scottish.

Sympathies about the sadness in the old year, and so admiring of your wisdom in recognizing it, owning it and putting this year's portion away so as to look forward to the joy in the New Year with a whole heart!

Thank you for the good example. I'll fold this year's pain away, keeping as little as I can aside from what I've learned from it.
