Day 60 - no results

Sunday, August 11, 2013

Yesterday was the 60th day of my new fit life - this means 60 days of workout. 60 days of getting up early and starting the day with a Jillian Michaels DVD (and occasionally something else: kayaking, biking, walking etc.). Overall it were ca. 70 days because I don't count the rest days - in this month there were maybe 4 rest rest days.

For over a month now my dinner is always a salad. It is a big bowl of salad but nontheless a salad.

In the morning I have mostly fruits or cereals - for the future I will cut cereals fully.

And for lunch I'm ordering always something from a place called "Healtch Kitchen", small portions, no sugar, very little carbohydrates.

I thought that all this was pretty good or at least not bad.

Well, think again.

This is day 61 and I haven't lost anything since day 30. Nothing. I have the same weight, the same measurements, same body fat %. (there were 2 days a week ago when I was 2 pounds lighter but it is gone now)

I don't want to quit because I FEEL better and I FEEL like looking better. But it would be great to havy ANY hard evidence for my work.

I don't know what to do. Should I eat nothing at all and that would finally help? Or should I workout 2 hours a day and maybe that would help? Or should I forget my dreams about not looking fat?

PS: I just realized that I have put on 3,5 lbs of muscle... I guess I do something right after all... :)

Hello! I can't believe I found this blog as I too have the same issue - it's been a frustrating journey the past year. However, there's hope!! I think I may have damaged my metabolism by eating too little (below my BMR) for too long. I found this website:
qs/resources/. Check it out - I'm not sure if you havethe same issue but there are tons of information there that is useful! Hang in there & never give up emoticon

Hey don't give up. I have same problem and not sure what to do but here is what I'm trying. I tracked food - knows it seems like I've been doing that forever. Now I am tracking my fitness. I know I lost weight and inches when no exercise just stayed in middle range of calories allowed. So I added exercise back in ate less and gained!!!. So this week I'm going to eat more and continue same exercise and see what happens. I think that it is - can't explain but it has to be a balance of in and out and everyone is different. ( though friends who work out tell me not eating enough so body is holding onto weight - seems no sense but hey willing to try. So my suggestions - don't give but keep track and try eating more - stay in range but if exercise you need to take in more calories. I think thee is a sight that will let you know how much to eat when you exercise. Try it can't hurt
Good luck

Too hot

Tuesday, August 06, 2013

Yesterday morning I almost fainted it was so hot already in my room. But I pushed through and finished my workout.
This morning I wasn't able to finish. After only a couple minutes I had to stop, it's just too hot (30 Celsius / ca. 86 F) - and that was at 6:30 in the morning! I don't know what to do, I want to do my workouts but I don't want to feel like fainting. I have to figure out something because this week it's going to be even hotter every day. :(
Maybe I could try to run outside in the morning but I'm a really bad runner.

Saturday, August 03, 2013

It's Saturday, I got back yesterday evening from my mother. My vacation is almost over, on Monday work starts again. I'm not worried about that because I like it when my days have a structure. On workdays I always get up early, have a coffee, read my mails and have my morning workout. The day goes by fast as I have always something to do. In the evening I usually have a salad and watch a movie (or some of my favorite series) or go out with friends. Nothing special - and that's really helpful when you need to stay consistent.
And that's what I need now because I'm not losing any weight. It's over two months now that I have started this new fit life of mine (54 days + a couple rest days) and my weight is almost exactly the same. I have lost maybe an inch from my waist and my hip. My scale says that I still have the same amount of body fat % (an embarassing 33%) and the same amount of muscle (36).
So there is not much to be happy about although I see changes when I look in the mirror. There are new muscles and my clothes fit better and I look better, fitter.
These feelings are colliding in me... I feel frustrated and disappointed. And I feel proud.
There is one thing that I have learned from previous failures: if you give up, if you don't do anything than nothing will change. So this time I won't give up, I will stay consistent. And eventually change will come.

Dear Diary...

Thursday, August 01, 2013

It's day 4 of my vacation at my mother's house. At first I was a little bit worried because the old DVD player caught fire on Sunday night after I plugged it in to be prepared for my work out the next morning. But then I borrowed my mother's notebook and although I can't play Jillian's Ripped in 30 on it, I can still work out to 30 Day Shred which isn't bad either.
I'm very happy that I can keep up with my morning routine and here I am even able to do something in the evening: we have a big garden with a lot to do.
Maybe my eating is not the best but it is not that bad either. I have lots of fruits and vegetables and sometimes an ice cream.

The first week

Monday, May 23, 2011

Last week on Monday I decided to start again with dieting and workouts.
The diet went really fine, I'm having fun with it. I like this diet because I have to be creative to have the right thing to eat every day, so I'm forced to look for new alternatives and recipes. Usually I'm eating the same foods over and over again and that's definitely not the right way.
Now I'm eating a lot of fruits (at least by my standards), more vegetables than usually, less baked goods and less meat.

It is different with the workouts. I made one of Jillian's workouts last week and otherwise I was just taking walks (30-60 minutes / day). It's not bad but I also know that it is not enough.

So for this week my goal is to keep up with the diet and to exercise more than last week.

I'm still having problems with exercising but I'm still on track with the diet.
Because of that my weight loss is slow (0,5 kg/week) but steady. I'm still determined to work out more so that I can lose more weight, keep it off and have a firmer body.
Thanks for asking. :)
