I'm working on goals

I've been thinking about (but rather at a loss) articulating my long-term goals. I thought I'd start with just a brain-stormed list of qualities I value - love, gratitude, strength, kindness, loyalty, bravery, confidence, humility, justice, joy, non-judgement, confidence, peace, patience, self control, gentleness, thoughtfulness, selflessness and abiding by one's code of ethics. I think this is a pretty comprehensive list, so maybe I'm ready to list some goals.

1) Have a relationship with my grandchildren (none of whom exist). Take each on a high school graduation trip to the destination of their choosing.

2) Keep myself healthy and vital so that I can continue to care for my 5-year-old nephew and sick Dad with energy, kindness and patience.

3) Reach my weight goal of 146 pounds by April 16, the day of my nephew's wedding.

This isn't done - I still have more thinking and writing to do.....

    Those are great. you can start big and then make some smaller goals to be able to hit the big goals.

    Ohhh!! I love goals!! I make them on the 1st of every month. I don't have very specific long term goals, other than "be healthier" or "lose 10 lbs" .... all the intermediate stuff is month by month. Good luck!

    Well, don't worry about long-term goals yet . . no problem. Just LEARNING all the facts and sharing of ideas on SparkPeople will help so much. Log in every day and click on SparkPoints, and try to do some of the things on the list . . as many as you can each day. The activities are laid out in such a way as to give you information and to provide motivation. I think you'll really like the experience!
